Discussion of 1.17 "Death Becomes Her" (FOX-US) - Airing 4/15/04

Keep in mind, that thanks to the wonders of Fox, this episode is actually Episode 16 and is before last week's episode. So unless they did major re-writes, expect no progress in the Jack storyline. Unless there's been major revisions, it probably won't make any sense.
 
I won't get to watch Tru Calling tonight b/c I will be driving back to school to write exams... so I won't get to watch it until I come home in a week... I'm not impressed :frown2:
 
i am looking foward to seeing tamyra gray tonight as she is a really great actrees for those who saw her on "boston public" and "half and half"as well as a great singer as seen on american idol .
 
no WONDER it's on 1/2 hour later... Jason was in the audience tonight for AI : cwm :... hehe 😀
 
Jack has got to go!!! He is obviously evil. He provoked the car-jacker because he knew what would happen and he also knew who was in the car crash at the end. How did he know that? Not even the police knew until Tru showed up at the scene. The next episode may reveal Jack isn't who he says he is or he could be reading mail that Tru got on her "regular" day. I can't wait!!! This show rocks!
 
tamyra gray pulled off her role like the true pro she is whether it is singing or acting in which she proved tonight!
 
I think that Jack knows about Tru reliving days because he relives them with her. He knew way to much about Harrison's night (and what he was planning with Lindsey) the "2nd day" at the bar. He was completing his sentances for him.

i agree, i also think he relives days.

this ep was good but i liked last weeks better-no new jack progress. tamyra grey did a really good job : superhap
 
It was pretty creepy when he bent down where the body had been on the previous day. One thing that puzzles me is how he knew who had died. It couldn't just be because he relives days too because he didn't see the body on the original day. He went back to the van to get the gurney (sp?) and the day restarted before he got back. He has to have another source of info besides his knowledge of how the day played out before.

Another creepy thing: Who the heck hangs out at funerals for people they don't know? From the way he talked, it must be something he does a lot.
 
ha man I was working so i programmed it but I didn't know that american Idol was on before so i missed the last half hour of the show! I have it until Harrison leaves jack after their drink! sutpid amercan idol I never liked that show anyways! 🙁
 
Actually, the way it sounded, was that Jack is the grim-reaper. He goes to the funerals to take the souls. It's just a guess, but i still think he is evil.

Maybe, instead of being THE grim reaper he is A grim reaper, like in "Dead Like Me". It could have happened when he died. Of course, that assumes that he was telling the truth when he mentioned that he had died.

If he is associated with the grim reaper then he isn't necessarily evil. After all, death is a natural part of life. But, whether he is evil or not, he is obviously working against Tru.

I didn't know it was a new time and only taped the first half!
Can someone help me out? The carjacker has his gun trained on jack and then...?
 
Is it just me but is Jack trying to destroy everything that is good in Harrisons life (starting with Lindsey). Assuming Jack does know the future/live days over and from the last couple of episodes it seems like it, why is he manipulating him is it because of Tru or is it because Tru has helped Harrison to have a better life through her do over days and Jack wants to set it to how it "should be". : vampy :
 
I actually really like Jack, so I'm hoping he's not evil, and is finally accepted in the gang. Even if he is the grim-reaper, that doesn't make him evil, although it might get in the way of Tru while she is trying to save a person's life.

Does anyone else like Jack?

I love Jack. He gives a whole new twist to the series. I don't think he's necesarilly evil, I think he's just doing what he believes in. There was an episode, I think Daddy's Girl where he said something along the lines of that death was the best thing the dead people in the morgue could have and that it was wrong to keep them alive past their time.
 
Oh man! I can't WAIT to see this episode! I won't be able to watch it until I go home at the end of this week to get the tape (my mom taped it for me b/c she's actually addicted to the show too! hehe)
