Ok, I have one question. What was the goal of having Cordelia being impaled in the stairs? Was it only for adding drama?

Btw, I also hated Xander/Willow pairing, I really liked Cordelia/Xander together. And there's something that I don't like about this episode, but I really cannot say what 🤫. Maybe the cheating? Not sure. I have to watch it again.

CC apparently got impaled when she was younger in real life. Also Whedon wanted to do a fake out hence why you have a scene open on a funeral, only to then show Buffy and Willow walking past.

It always bugged me that the moment Xander and Willow kissed because they literally thought they were going to die is the moment that Cordelia and Oz walk in.

I love Cordelia with Xander and Willow with Oz. I always found the cheating story with Willow and Xander to be contrived, but I guess people, especially young people, will do dumb things.
I have to admit, the fake out of making us think Cordelia had died was pretty effective.

And I absolutely hate the Xander/Willow affair in general, and especially the kiss in this episode. I always skip that scene.

I don't hate it. It does make Cordelia's reaction more extreme. .The injury coming right as she learned the truth likely pushed away any possibility that she'd have reconciled with Xander.
It is interesting to note that we don't see Cordelia's family, I was always curious to see her parents.

Yeah, prob. I guess it makes more sense when I put it in the context of their expected timeline. I’ve read somewhere that Angel and Cordelia were supposed to leave Sunnydale after Amends. But something happened with the production of AtS and they stayed until the end of the season.

And yeah, I was always curious about her family too. I haven't finished watching AtS yet, but I assume that they never show up. It'd have been nice to meet them.
