Pre-Discussion of 5.05 "Life of the Party" (SkyOne-UK) - Airing 2/10/04

from thewb.com

The consummate entertainer Lorne (Andy Hallett) works around the clock to throw the ultimate Halloween party at Wolfram & Hart. When their guests begin to behave strangely and out of character, Angel (David Boreanaz) and the gang investigate to find out what's causing the mysterious happenings.

This thread for UK discussion - no spoilers!

I've heard a little about this ep - hope it's as good as it sounds...

I am looking forward to this one a lot, I think it is going to be one of my fave of S5.

Not sure about this episode. It's good that they are letting Lorne get a little light as he has hardly been in the last few episodes but I'm finding it hard to see a whole episode based on a halloween party being great. Knowing me though I'll probably end up loving it.

Really, really lookng forward to it. I've had about 7 different people from the Us telling me it's great, so i'm looking forward to it, although 2 peeps did say it wasn't all that.

But love halloween eppys, and hoping it'll be a lil bit scary.

Yey i cant wait for this episode i have heard some things about it and form what i hear its gonna be great and its on tonight YEY!!! 😀

I thought the episode was good. Lorne is the least developed character in Angel and we kinda saw a new side to him. Gunn pissing everywhere was funny. So was Spike's positive outlook. The Wes / Fred scenes were good but it reminded me that they would not work as a couple and that its better having Wes wanting Fred. Really not looking forward to next weeks episode. Mexican wrestling and Angel! What were they smoking? Lets hope Joss and co. can do what they always do and make something great.

Enjoyed this, as ever. I'd like to see the Archduke and his clan again.

It was a less funny ep than I anticipated although there were some laughs (Gunn "marking his territory" 🙂 springs to mind).

Spike didn't seem to be really serving any purpose here (unlike the previous ep) - it would've worked as well without him (was it written before James joined the show?)

It was good to see a Lorne-centric ep again and also good to see that he's not all sunshine and lollipops.

Not so much Angel unravelling in this ep but I think it was still there in the background.

Wesley's unrequited love for Fred and her liking Knox looks like developing into an interesting triangle. I'm surprised there are no Fred/Gunn hangovers - perhaps another complication?

And Lorne's id as the Hulk 🙂 - what's not to like about that?

Quite a good episode!. And the shower scene had my eyes out on stalks!... nekkid Angel!. For all those nay-sayers complaing about David's weight, i hoped they watched this and repented, the man looked fantastic!.

I liked that, yes it was Lorne-centric, it drew in the rest of the team. Wes still has his crush on Fred, who isn't seeing it or is deliberately not seeing it. I felt so sorry for him when finally we thought they were getting somewhere and she asks him what he thinks of Knox!. I thought they were both pretty hilarious drunks and you know, for all the coolness that Wesley now has, he still can't dance!

Gunn marking his territory, and i laughed out loud at Wesley rushing over to him to tell him not to in Angel's office, but he couldn't help it.

And okay, the scene in the office, when Eve and Angel were busted. And Eve slaps Angel's butt 😱 Good grief i thought i was going to go into heart failure because you definitely heard the slap of a bare butt there 😉 but also the expression on David's face when she did. Wondered whether it was scripted because the look on his face was priceless!. I also liked the way he delegated tasks when they all realised something was wrong, and he basically said he and Eve would stay there and have more sex! :rotfl:

And positive Spike!.. 😀

At the end, when Angel wanted to talk to Eve but she just brushed him off. Did you see how quickly the expression on her face changed the moment she turned her back on him? It was so chilling.

This was first Hallowe'en episode for Angel and i really enjoyed it. 🙂 :: tu ::

This was so fluffy light and kitsch!!I loved it....It made a good couterpoint to last week's horro-rama and I laughed out loud at least 5 times which for me is good..... :: wacko :

Favourite would have to be Angel and Eve behind the couch....I really didn't expect him to say that!! 😛

Of course it wasn't exactly a new stroyline in the Buffy-verse but sue me!!I enjoyed it..... ::wave::

The eppy was no way as good as last weeks eppy, but i still think it was another great eppy.

So many funny bits, and i was hoping it'd be slightly scary, but even without gore it was great.

I loved the drunk Fred and Wes, but kinda felt sorry for Wes when Fred mentioned Knox, and all happy shiny Spike really made me lmao.

And okay, the scene in the office, when Eve and Angel were busted. And Eve slaps Angel's butt Good grief i thought i was going to go into heart failure because you definitely heard the slap of a bare butt there but also the expression on David's face when she did. I heard that and i was laughing so much, such a priceless look!

Gunn peeing everywhere even made my dad laugh, and he's no angel fan.

I was happy it rotated around Lorne a lot, i think he deserves a lot more eppys in the future. I also liked seeing the dark subconscious side of him, and lol @ his subconscious, that was funny.

Overall i think it was one excellent eppy and i can't wait for next weeks.
