Ravear, how could you have seen it so early? It airs seven o'clock central, which I think it the first when it airs. Anyways. The episode was so funny.
"Let's take out some puppets." - Angel.
It was SO funny when they're all walking in slow motion and the camera goes down to see Angel with the sword! It would have been funnier if he fell becuase the sword was too heavy. OH MY GOSH! The Angel turned into Vamp form! That was so funny! Hehe, Fred and Wes's kiss! Hehe, poor Aly seeing this.

It was an ok episode, not the greatest though. Funny with puppet Angel and the whole puppet fight. Nice to see wolf girl agian even though Angel got all shy and stuff around her..but next week looks good and its amazing how the WB made it sound so important since its written by Joss Wheadon.
That was hilarious!!! The puppet version of Angel was so great...even had the infamous brow. It was especially funny seeing him give that monologue about himself by Nina's cage...being all serious and open...as a little puppet. 😀 The thing that was weird was the Nina situation. I mean, would he really get in a relationship with her? I see them being just friends. Anyway, I thought the whole motive behind Smile Time was messed up. I mean, that's good for the show because it's supposed to be disturbing. But, those lifeless kids with their smiles...yikes. It was pretty creepy even though they were demon-possessed puppets.
Well, Gunn getting his lawyer boost back is interesting. Although, I know that that favor he had to do for that scientist is gonna bite him back later. I was never the biggest fan of Gunn, but I didn't think he was just some muscle. He was always a good guy. Oh well...can't take it back now. I'm so glad Fred and Wes finally kissed. It is about time. I mean, it's been, what, two years?? I was getting so frustrated when he kept missing her signals. Glad they kissed again. But next week...no no no...I don't like what appears to be coming. Fred! 🙁

i LOVED smile time!! puppet angel and vamp puppet angel was the best! this is the comic relief i needed! i was laughing the whole time. ittttttt's smiletime!!!

Wow. Wow wow wow wow and might I add, wow.
That was quite possibly my favorite Angel episode ever. Certainly my favorite of season 5 (I've been lukewarm, at best, with most of this season). The slow-mo "call to arms" shot of Fred flanked by Wes and Gun...and then they pan down to muppet-Angel with the sword slung over his shoulders...woo-ha! Friggin' killed me. It's been a long time since the 'ol Buffyverse mix of comedy and drama and creepiness and smoochiness was working on all fronts in a single episode. Everything in this one worked for me. Even the almost random return of werewolf chick. And most importantly: go Fred & Wes!!!
They definitely turned this one up to eleven. If the rest of this season stays this good, I'll be one happy LD. Love to see 'em go out on top!

I loved this episode - puppet angel was so hilarious. The fight with Spike was priceless. Ugh the wolf girl though - that storyline is just stupid and the two have no chemistry imo. Fred & Wesley on the other hand...

ABOUT DAMN TIME! Good to see that at least one long running storyline has been taken care of before the end of the series. Again, thank god, she finally made the right choice.
I like Nina, although, they shouldn't push her onto Angel, no chemistry.
Vamp puppet Angel was great and the other puppets got creepy at moments, especially when they were putting their hands up the guys back. But this was another episode where Spike comes in for a five minutes says some sarcastic lines to Angel, then isn't seen again til the next episode to repeat the proccess. Clearly a waste of a great actor and character.

This was one of my favorite episodes. I think the puppet really looked like Angel. Kinda scary lol. My little brother has a couple of puppets and now I don't want to go near them. I was kinda hoping for some of the others to turn into puppets, just to see what they looked like but I guess it was better that it was just Angel.

I guess this episode was all right, but the whole puppet thing felt like a gimmick. I love stand-alone episodes, but I think that this is no time to be having them. To be fair, nobody knew that the show would be cancelled before this episode was produced, but it still frustrates me. I want closure of all of these story arcs, and more are being created. The whole "Flowers for Gunn" arc is intriguing, but it makes me think that maybe he is going to turn evil and need killing. I am glad that Fred and Wesley are back together. With Cordy dead, I can no longer hold out hope for her and Wesley (not that there ever was much). I am also glad to see Nina and Angel together. I may be the only Nangel "˜shipper, but it looks like things might go well for me. With rumors that Sarah is not willing to make a guest appearance and the unlikelihood that Buffy and Angel would ever work anyway, it seems that the most plausible happy end for Angel would to be for him to discover that there is a fairly large middle ground between self-loathing and true happiness, and start to date casually (Nina). 🙂
The next episode looks like a much more satisfying episode. It is directed by Joss, which means that it must be either important to the storyline, or just really good. I hope Fred does not actually die, because if that happens, I think that Angel will have a painful ending, probably with other character deaths and betrayals. (Gunn seems a likely suspect.)

This show "Angel" is amazing. What other show would even try something like that, or even more remarkably, make it work.
The first have 1/2 hour of Smile Time was funnier than any sitcom I've seen.
Angel to Fred: You're Fired.
And then the puppet cancer line, and then Spike walks in, and I almost busted a gut.
Even more amazingly though, they managed to breath poignancy, drama, and even outright creepy crawly horror into a show about a vampire that becomes a puppet.

Ok parts were funny, I loved that Fred finally made Wes pay attention, and the Angel opening up to Nina-wolf scene was great. Ahhh ahh no bad Nina Bad!! lmao I can't say I loved this episode though. And I am REALLY PISSED about the next epi, cause if what they showed is going to happen, Fred and Wes won't even have a chance and that sucks. Even thought the episode was entertaining I just think that with so little Angel air time the shows should be more substantial, though I like that Wes was telling Angel to move on, and knowing that he could be with other people is a interesting option for him, but I am not a Nina Angel shipper. And I know they filmed this before they knew it was canceled, but did anyone else notice that things seemed crammed in the plot, things were out of place, and like the whole thing was hurried? Maybe I am just being paranoid. But the whole show seemed rushed or "˜off' or something. Anyways, this episode was ok, it had good parts, but every Angel episode is bittersweet for me now..
I agree with you - the Wes/Fred thing seemed out of the blue and a whole lot of stuff was packed into this ep 🙂

I absolutlely loved this episode! Just the right mix of comedy, drama, etc. It did seem a bit crammed, with the Gunn and Fred/Wes angels being brought in. But, I can't complain. When Angel vamped out as a puppet, I was rolling. Now, the Fred/Wes thing. In the beginning, I had been all for it. Once she chose Gunn, I came to a somewhat shaky conclusion that they were better for each other. I like Fred/Wes in a "it's about time!" kind of way...and it's nice that Wes has finally gotten something he wanted for a change...and they're kind of cute together...oh, who am I kidding. I love it! The next episode seems really promising. Heartwrenching, and all, especially for Wes. I'm a tad partial...Anyone else notice that when things start going good for two characters, one of them ends up dying or something? I just keep thinking back to Tara/Willow....

Smile time was soooooo funny. It was a great episode. Ratio (the purple thing) was so cute, but then Fred shot him with her gun. 🙁 I think the Fred/Wesley kiss was very long awaited, I think we all knew it would happen somehow. Nox can just go away now...

I was deeply suprised about this episode. I thought it was going to suck so-oo much. But I was suprised last night. It actually brought up feelings, plot, and situations from earlier in the season. Seeing that we may have an arc! We can only wish. The oddest scene ever was Nina and Puppangel walking away from the cage holding hands. "What do puppets eat?"
Another odd scene was that even though Spike could beat up Angel in Destiny, he couldn't beat up a puppet that happened to be possesed by Angel. The scenes with the evil puppets made me laugh out loud, it was a mix of Greg the Bunny and Crank Yankers. Two great shows mind you.
Gunn's getting adicted....addicted to chips? Whatever, but I like the way he doesn't want to go back to 'giving up his soul for a trick' Gunn. And finally Fred & Wes kiss! This episode Fred was on the offensive side feeling how Wesley used to feel. I was just sighing everytime Wesley ignored the hint, until the end!
Everyone had a big part in this episode...except Spike! Which probably why this was a really great episode.
