Kinky.
I really enjoyed this episode. Kooky Wes is interesting, albeit a tad scary. As always, I loved Illyria's dialogue. As many have said previously, it does strike a resemblence to Shakespearen work. Very interesting turn of events there at the end, as well...

I had to tell my Dad that there is no talking during Angel! He is one of the poor unconverted types. There's really no hope for him.
I am torn by Illyria. She rocks (I wonder if I could pull off an Illyria costume for next Halloween...hmmm), but of course I still miss Fred. and i totally agree w/ the shakespearean comment. "Alas poor Yoric..." if Illyria can play w/ time.. technically she could send herself back to the deeper well. oh well... i can wish.... though now it looks like she might be a powerful ally. she certainly talks a good game... and handled Angel's Avengers w/ ease, maybe she can beat up the Wolf, the Ram and the Hart. i wonder if Illyria knew Glory? or maybe Jasmine. there seems to be a thing in the buffy/angelverse for female deities that predate humanity.
what is up w/ Wes? the scenes in his office... he looks like he's going bonkers instead of sinking further into his Darth Wesley persona (who while also nuts is quite hot). Illyria mentioned something about there being 2 Wesleys. Does anyone think there is anything to that? or is he just putting on a mask for everyone else.
And the ending!? Just giving the baby over to the demons (who were hilarious...w/ the cola line and the fussing over the baby's mama)? According to Lindsay part of "the apocalypse" is Angel just accepting/rationalizing the way the world is. He's playing the Senior Partners' game again and reverting to his pre-Cordelia apathy...unless he's doing something SUPER slick. i hope its the latter. i was never very good at figuring things out... which i hope explains the incoherence of this entire post.
Does anybody else think it would be anti-climatic if the key to sinking W&H turned out to be making them so completely unprofitable that the Senior Partners had to shut down their LA branch? 🙂

Illyria isn't really female, it just took Fred's body. I don't think it really has a gender, but if it did it would be male as it keeps referring to itself as a "king."

This most likely refers to his memories that were returned to him in the last episode. Wesley now has two sets of memories, hence two Wesleys; though I don't remember this being mentioned in tonight's episode. Probably my brother's fault, kept calling about computer problems :-/

I think this was just an instance of Angel picking his battles. It reminds me of season 2 of Angel when the rest of Angel inc. runs the business with out him. I forget what Wesley says specifically, but it was something along the lines of "we're keeping the agency open. Somebody's gotta keep fighting the good fight." To which Angel replies, to himself "let them fight the fight, somebody's got to fight the war." Or something along those lines. This might be an extension of that philosophy.

::devil:: Big Bad ::devil:: here. It was a good episode with a lot of good scenes. Was I the only one (before seeing Angel save the A-Team from getting slaughtered again) who thought that Spike was going to get staked again on the 2nd go-round? Anyway I was happy to see Illyria go and rescue Gunn. I was wondering if they were ever gonna get him out of that hell dimension. Welcome back Gunn, we missed you! And as for Wes.........he scared me a lil bit this episode. But I guess having all those horrible memories returned to him really did a number on his psyche. Hopefully he'll get himself togther. And I'm with you Helga, I'm kinda confused about Angel's action at the end. I'm hoping that he is pulling off something super-slick instead of just finally giving up to Wolf Ram & Hart. Well I'm semi looking forward to the next episode for two reasons:
1) Then it will be only 2 more episode left before I have a mental breakdown like Wes from losing another good show done by Joss ( ::crying:: stupid WB executives ::rm:: )

I loved this episode except for seeing spike and Angel getting dusted 🙁 but It was an excellent episode and its nice that they didn't kill Illyria.... and i loved the fact that Angel saved Spike that was cool..

I am going through some serious family issues right now, and this episode was a nice break from reality.
It was...interesting. Not as good as "Origin" but good nonetheless. Can I say again how much I love Illyria? Her dialogue is superb. I always though Amy Acker was an good actress but after her transformation into Illyria I changed my opinion. She's amazing.
The whole thing with the demons fussing over the baby's mother and wanting the cola was hilarious. As were the parts between Angel and Lorne with the walkie talkies. Esp when Angle slapped Lorne upside the head *LOL*
Wes is seriously losing it. It was nice seeing the old Gunn that I came to love tonight. Nobody can wear street clothes quite as well as J 🙂
My first thoughts when Illyria staked Spike was "oh no, not again." She didn't even bat an eye as she took on all four of them, and won. Kinda creepy seeing all of them layed out like that.
As for what happened with Angel at the end, I think he's going to make it seem like he's giving into W&H. Maybe see if he could learn something about the upcoming apocalypse by being all buddy buddy with the SP. It'll be very interesting to see everything unravel.

I really enjoyed this episode. I thought Lorne was a hoot trying to be all "stealthy"! I know Wes is a little off right now but it IS a TV show. aren't you suppose to be able to actually hear when he speaks words? (Yes, I understanding the acting thingy) I guess I just hate whispering.

To me this episode was.. Soso..
I am pretty sure it's one of those set up episodes that doesn't reveal it's entire worth until a few episodes later, or in this case, the end of the season. I liked seeing Illyria fight, and boy did she lay out the fang gang. Spike's choice of dialog with Illyria is still humorous, but not as funny as previous episodes. He seems to think he can break her or something, and his steadfast attitude while getting his but whooped makes it pretty funny.
I really liked Illyria's line about "plankton envying the sea that holds it" or something to that extent. Whoever is writing her lines is doing a good job.
Wes and Gun are at super low places, if there is a big fight coming, I think they are going to need some confidence back. and for some reason Lorn seems out of place. I like his character a lot, but he seems just tossed in, like a piece from the wrong puzzle. Plus he seems whipped, and I remember Season 3 Lorn would have been pretty pissed when Angel smacked him. All three of the characters seem very broken, almost painful to watch. I really hope that changes before the end, I want to see the gang go out with a bang, not a hoot..
The new Liaison to the senior partners is so very agent smith, don't you all think. Maybe a bit funnier, but every time I see him I expect him to say "Mister Anderson, *cough* I mean, Mister Angel" lol.
Can't wait for the next episode, though, for the first time ever, I actually am not real thrilled about Buffy being in it, so to speak.. I actually want to know more about the fang gang, and Illyria, I feel like this is taking something from their ending, even though I do want to know how the buffy/spike/angel thing plays out. I guess I will have to wait and see how it turns out..

AHHHHHH!!!!!! Poopy. I fell asleep in front of the TV and woke up just as it was ending... what luck yeah. What sucks even more is that there isn't a rerun of the episode with in the next 8 days!

BTW, isn't this the first time David's wife Jaime has appeared on the show? And what's with her appearing pregnant? They already had their first child, so is this another on the way? She was just on a sitcom where she played a strip-tease instructor, and she looked completely thin. For the past 3 years, it seems like every time we see her on TV (Son Of The Beach, etc.) she's been pregnant...

FOX averaged an 8.1 rating/13 share in primetime to finish a tenth of a point ahead of NBC, 8.0/13. ABC was third at 6.6/11, beating CBS' 6.1/10. The WB averaged 2.7/4 and UPN 1.9/3.

-Didn't like Jamie's acting, though I guess you needed her for the ending.

Illyria's speech about power and conquering gave Angel an idea about how to win the apocalypse. She is the reason he will win.
She did talk too much and it wasn't as good as Origin but I really loved all her stuff.
And the Angel at the end is, I think, just an act. I think he is trying to make the senior partners think that he is now on their side in mind and spirit.
I really loved the scene when she kills them all. I was so shocked to see Spike staked that I had to rewind twice to see the other murders. Great directing.

Anywho, this is going to come in my usual as I remember them way.
I was eating at the start and I thought Wes was hooking his book rather then asking for one. Weird mind indeed.
Illyria was cool but I thought she was going to be Angel's little fighter for the apocalypse, unless she does get her powers back and goes kaboom (but wouldn't that be too Spikeish?) With my usual "Is Fred coming back!!!" thing I thought that when her powers were sucked she might change back (at least in terms of looks) to Fred. She did say she was her power so they could of been connected. Which gave me a side thought, could she take those 'clothes' off.
The whole demonic adoption thing (let's not read in too deep and say ME are against adoptions now 😉) was a nice little side story, and they made me laugh when they we're mothering the mother.
Illyria was pretty smart putting the necklace on the demon, and that would make a funny image of the demon, the wife and the kid sat around the kitchen. What do you think would of happened if she put it on the wife?
Angel has to have something going on, he wouldn't just agree to it he has a plan, I can tell.
Lorne was funny, all sluthey (that a word?). We also got to see a blue demon wondering around the office, wonder if they talk about the difficults of living in a non green/blue world?

I really liked this episode. I know we see the whole gang get slaughtered, but for some reason, it seemed lighter than those prior to it.......
Hamiliton was great. I wasn't sure about him in the other two episodes, but I liked him here.
It was nice to have Gunn back. I thought he was a nice 'addition' (for lack of a better word) this time round.
I liked Wesley being extremely eccentric. Yes, I like his Dark Wesness too, but this was a nice change.
Illyria was awesome, as usual. I loved the scene when she killed everyone (yes, I need help). Not that I liked seeing everyone die, but just how it all happened so fast. Heroes we've seen fight all forces get killed in a tenth of a second. Creepy, more of less.
But, the weird thing was how I didn't care for Angel in this episode. He seemed so "Kill Illyria". It was more than that. Angel seemed careless, in my opinion. Maybe you're right, Blackarachnia. Maybe it is just a mask to fool the Senior Partners. I am hoping.

Ok, I thought that this was a great episode. Illyria, as always is extremely interesting and Amy plays her with such great intensity! I am just amazed by this woman's acting skill every time I watch her as Illyria!
It hurts to see Angel being all apathetic again...but I'm sure he has his reasons...
Gunn is back to the old Gunn, which I missed more than I realized...Tough and Smart...hmmm....good combination....

Funniest-Lines: I can't remember it exactly but the line when Spike says he's a self-motivated go-getter had me crying, I was laughing so hard! Then there were the second two favorites.

Wes: I'm not in love with this thing Angel. But for some reason, I need it right now.
Angel: Yeah, that's just weird.
Oh, and I could practically hear the thoughts in the heads of you Spangel's through the promo for next week!!!

When Illyria 'killed' Spike, Lorne, Wesley and then Angel my friend and I just jumped off of the couch with these crazy looks on our faces hahaha... like you know that they don't die for real or anything (what would the last episodes be like? harmony hamilton and gunn? lol). Ah but I hated that side of Angel coming out again... it seems like it's almost the same he was back when Darla came back... sccarrryy....
