I liked this issue, but it left me with one major question. Why exactly does Duncan Fillworthe sacrifice slayers to the demon if he's mad at Buffy and her slayers? My only guess is that he's a coward who doesn't want to fight her/them directly, physically or otherwise. As for why the demon
burst into flames after Faith attacked it, my only guess is that its blood was flammable
. And as for the pace of the season, I'm not opposed. Yes, it could move along more quickly than it has, and Twilight could get more face time, but many of Buffy's strongest villains slowly tortured her (not necessarily physically or directly) before moving in for the final kill. Twilight's just waiting longer than most.

Just finished predators and prey (the tpb), and i am pretty disappointed, i thought all of the issues were weak besides the andrew and buffy one, i think its called predators and prey. yeah i just didnt like the other ones. Vampire toys wanting rip out ovaries?? Lame. Harmony taking over the world with a reality show? Lame. The Dawn issue? Lame.

Yeah i'm definatley less than impressed. Hopefully the next tpb is better.

I actually missed this issue first time round, not sure how. So only read it now when I was updating the cannon watch thread.

Anyone else find it weired that the Vampire Faith regretted getting away 'The Third', looked almost identical to Kakistos?

It can't be him becasue he's dressed totally differently and Faith doesn't say his name, which she obviously know, but they look pretty much the same?

I really liked this one. I agree that it did feel quite rushed and could have done with maybe being two issues instead of one, but I think it's the best of the P&P so far (I've still to read the Dawn issue).

I thought it was Kakistos, too, but didn't they slay him in season 3?

I really like the Faith/Giles interaction (even better in NFFY), which of course gets lost in the Retreat arc. And I do like getting some background on the new Slayers (I loved The Chain!). The Watcher's Council's attitude [that Slayers are replaceable] doesn't surprise me, we see that a lot in the show.

I personally like this one shot better than the entire Harmony arc. While I liked her as a character in the series, & the storyline of how the Slayers got to be hated is essential, I can't stand her & her stupid reality show (& the vampire kitty). Color me bored.

Agein I enjoyed this issue more rereading it, the one shots are easier all in 1 go, knowing that you don't have to wait a month to get back to the arc.

I'm still unsure of the Faith/Giles story. I like them together, but I can't help feeling that Giles is only doing it cuz he wants to be needed by a slayer, and Buffy is past his help like that now. For some reason that makes me a little uncomfortable with their relationship.

Aw I like Faith & Giles 🙂

This is the first time I really thought about girls who didn't want to be called, didn't want to be slayers. I think that's kind of an interesting place to go for the series, because we know at the beginning (and later) Buffy just wanted to be normal, and now she's made it so a whole lot of girls are no longer normal.

The other thing I'm wondering about is when Faith's "third vamp" says he killed all her friends - are we to take that as what made her different from Buffy? I mean, that's been my theory for a while, that it's her friends that keep her from being Faith.
