Well, a normal vamp who got his brain upgraded by W&H and who was also physically fit enough to take on other vamps while still human. Some serious advantages to begin with when turned.

Yeah, Gunn is much better Big Bad than Twilight. The human or vampire enemies have always been more interesting than the almost 'untouchable superpowers'.
