Discussion of Episode 2.06 "Dex, Lies, and Videotapes"

I did not like the way that this episode went. I hope that it is not going to cause the entire series to go down the road of Dexter trying to understand his "feelings" he is not supposed to have any sort of sexual desires and yet he irrationally slept with Lila. I do not understand what Dexter is doing. He is being slopy and he is nothing like his character I hope he goes back to normal soon other wise I am going to be dissapointed in the show. I also think it is crazy that Harry had an intimate relationship with Dex's mother. Does anyone think that Harry may be Dex's biological father I think there is definate possiblities. Anyways I like that part of the storyline but Dex needs to rid of these crazy feelings he cannot get better otherwise the show will not be any good.

Yeah, the new Dexter, I don't know. I know what you mean though. That's where my head was at too. It wasn't that the episode was a really bad, or anything, it's just they were going places I wasn't sure I wanted to follow. I didn't even like Dexter in a red T Shirt. Too much color. Not really Dexter.

Kind of makes you think though. What we're really saying is we don't want Dexter to reform. I mean he'll still be killing people, I imagine, so is he even reformed, I don't know, but without his passionless, twisted mind the character becomes somehow less fun, and less easy to justify.

I like Lila. I think she's charmingly twisted, and hot, but I don't want Dexter leaving Rita for her.

Doakes needs to be giving Rita's mother a ride home and the car needs to be hit by a truck. And the truck should be filled with flammable contents, and explode. Then a plane needs to fall on it.

Makes sense, I think. I always wondered why Harry grabbed Dexter to take home from the slaughter at the docks, and left the brother.

but what about the blood they needed from dexter's 'real dad'? didn't dex get blood work done in season 1 to prove it was his father?

Good point you are so right I totally forgot about that. I need to re-watch the 1st season again because I don't exactly remember if Dex got the blood or not because I know Deb was mad at him for doing it so did he ever look at the results? man I don't remember and I am letting a friend borrow my DVD's!
