I loved the first episode... thought it was a solid start but there were some minor places for improvement... The running thing for one. It was funny the was one of the characters said something like "you were a track runner" or something along those lines so I guess she's used to the running... suppose it beats the traffic!!

This episode was like no other we have seen so far, I really fought we would of seen kinda similarties to each episode but they have all been so different and fantastic, Tru Calling is a masterpiece.
 
this was my favourite 'solving' ep- I really enjoyed it- well written with lots of plot twists 🙂
 
Im in Alberta Canada, so the last episode I seen was the 2 hour finale........Is this episode coming after......
 
I watched this episode a couple days ago...somehow I had missed it when it originally aired (US). Not bad, though it's a little "out there" compared to later episodes. Doesn't quite have the focus, I guess but it does help advance the Tru and her Calling story a bit. I think my favorite aspect is putting Tru face-to-face with her med-school aspirations and her situation at the morgue. It's cool to see Tru deal with her reality and her dreams whenever they come together like in this episode.
 
It was a good episode. The ending was great. I hope they start the next episode with Davis explaining how he knows about Tru.

I was glad that she didn't help Harrison win those bets.

Like Elec said, it was intresting to see her two lives collide in this episode. It probably wasn't that hard of a decision though....the life of a young woman or her sitting an exam that got her into med school. Even though the teacher didn't understand what she was going through.
 
I think that's really a neat concept, and hopefully it will come up more. Tru wants to be a doctor, and we have to assume that it's because she wants to help people. Eventually she may have to sit down and realize that, because of her calling, she is able to help people in a more profound way by working at the morgue than if she was in an office diagnosing strep throat or stitching up cuts. She still gets to do what she always wanted to do (help others) but it's not quite in the way she thought she would.
 
I have not watched this episode 🙁🙁🙁 I am disappointed with myself but everytime it was shown I was out and about. I know we get a new episode this Tuesday but I am sure they repeat the episode before on Wednesday so is that correct, will I be able to catch Haunted on Wednesday?!?!
 
oh my god. the ending was... the uber shock. I did like it though it's a shame she missed her MCATS. I wonder if they'll follow it through next year...
 
Becky: That's a good question about the MCATs. You have to assume that Tru still wants to be a doctor and that she might go back next year to retake them. A lot happens in the first season, though, and it's hard to say if/how Tru's feelings towards med school and her job at the morgue change (not trying to spoil, but also it isn't really addressed much later on). She gets too busy and caught up with what she has going on to really think far into the future, or so it seems. Hopefully it'll come up again when the year has gone by and testing time rolls around. That could make for a good episode, with Tru having to be honest with herself and Davis about her calling, where she can do the most good. Like: "You aced the MCATs, got into a great medical school, but are you really going to go?"

At first I was confused about why she went back to take the MCATs several hours late on the rewind day. Then I realized that she took the test in full the previous day and that the test, questions, and answers should be the same - Tru seems to have at least a semi-photographic memory, so it should be no problem for her to breeze in there with an hour to go and regurgitate the answers she'd carefully figured out the previous day. I had a good laugh over that one once I figured it out 🙂
 
I think maybe they'll have an episode MCATS vs. Calling... I think it'd be a nice follow up 🙂
 
Yeah, she can certainly take them, celebrate her good results, apply to schools, get in, and so on. What'll be interesting is when it really comes right down to it and she has to make that choice for real - stay or go. Hopefully she'll spend a lot of time agonizing over the decision but get some supernatural intervention which causes her to stay. Of course, it could be transformative for the series if she went to med school and was working in a hospital. She'd still have access to dead people who need her help, but they could throw in some ER style hospital drama as well. I don't think the show is goin' there, but it's impossible to know for sure 🙂
 
There's always the possibility that she could go to med school in the same area, now that we know there is one, and still work at the morgue. That could also lead to a lot of secret identity-style problems. Right now the only person she really has to report to is Davis, and he apparently knows what's going on with her. A professor would be a lot less sympathetic if she had to miss an exam or paper deadline than Davis is about her missing work.
 
Medical College Admission Test. In the US it is a standard(ized) test required for prospective medical school students. I believe it is similar to the SAT (Standardized Aptitude Test) and ACT (American College Test) which are taken by high school students to help with college admissions or the LSAT (Law School Admission Test) taken by prospective law school students.

American Universities are big on standardized testing as an aid to admissions and will often look at grade point average, work experience, extracurriculars and volunteer activities, and standardized test scores when considering students for admission. Because MCAT and LSAT are basically required for medical and law schools, respectively, a better score means you are likely to have better schools or programs to choose from.
