A bit more about Jack - I definitely don't like that boy 😉 I actually read an interview with Jason Priestly in the Radio Times which revealed sort of
which is kind of where I thought they were going. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out...

I liked this ep a lot. Theres something about Jack I dont like but it will be interesting to see in the next couple of eps whast happens. His ability to relive days does explain the winning with harrison at the horses and stuff though.

I had remained rather unimpressed by Tru Calling (Mainly thanks to the frankly insulting flashbacks, recaps and exposition dialogue every two minutes. And, to be honest, the "Help me" bit in the opening credits annoys the hell out of me for reasons I can quite pinpoint...) but was well impressed last night.
Nice to see Tru isn't an unthwartable superhero, and actually does know something about medicine. (I'm still reeling from watching her need a ten minute explanation, complete with fruit as a visual aid, of how leaving the knife in slows bleeding. Note to self, stay the hell away from Eliza Dushku in medical crisis.) Davis' immediate suspicion of Jack felt a little forced... maybe I'm missing something, but it just felt a little off that he was comparing Tru to the theory of relativity as his scientific research... Jack stopping the bus is up there with my top 20 tv moments ever, maybe just edging out Kat telling Zoe she was her mum... I'm glad it's finally expanding into meaner, anti-Early Edition territory... it just feels very weird to speak the words "Jason Priestley has improved the show a lot." Tru's finally coming into her own as a character as well. Maybe soon I can stop seeing her as the Girl Who Killed Faith.

Interesting stuff - Jack is the anti-Tru. I thought he would turn out to be something like that. I agree with Jill above that Davis' suspicion of Jack was a bit forced this ep but I think it had been building (certainly since the last ep when he found about Jack being in the mental hospital).
The show has improved tremendously since the first few eps (which I thought were distinctly average) and I'm eagerly looking forward to next week's season finale.

My problem with Tru Calling is I don't get into it so my mind wonders. I spent last night ep playing with a wristband and trying to fix my trousers. I know this was an episode better then most but as I said my mind was wondering and I realised how 2D the characters are. Tru saves lives, thats it, Davis helps, thats it, Jack tries to stop, thats it, Harrison has comical hyjynxes. thats it. I mean at times they do other things but they're just so 2D. I think Merrideth had good potential as a character but where the hell did she get to?
The father hated the son but in fact liked him but couldn't say was a bit soppy and it was obvious Jack was up to no good and Tru's liking and Davis' disliking seems too extreme but I suppose it progresses the story. I did get a kick out of the blokes Irish accent because I like Irish accents. Well apparently next weeks episode is good.

Agreed about the 2Dness of the characters, though as time goes by, they are fleshing out a little. Davis spent that whole episode doing a very good Bill Bryson impression, by the looks of things. When do they actually get any work done at the Morgue? Davis is reading up on Physics, despite it being utterly irrelevant to Tru, Jack gives off a stoner vibe, and spends all day standing around lots of corners looking shifty, and Tru is bouncing (Run, Tru, Run!) all over town. They must get a terrific backlog. Or not, thinking about it, since Tru must alleviate quite a bit of their workload...

I was shocked when I first saw this episode. I guess it was the realization of Jack and what he was/did. I'd like to talk more but it's been ages since I've seen it and I can't distinguish the eppys so I'll say no more.

Alas, I'd been spoiled, so I knew the thing about Jack was coming. Because I did, the foreshadowing seemed obvious. Plus, Priestley, as much of an improvement as he is, seems to have graduated from the Joey Tribbiani School of Understated Acting.

This episode was kinda disoppointing.
I really dont have much to say about it. It seemed too easy to have found the 2 random people she was supposed help!! I don't know. It was just reallllllllly bad...next week looks good though.

Shame for Luc but I was relieved whe Harrison wasn't killed. They let her best friend leave, her sister is never there so they can't let him go! The scene between Tru's dad and Jack in the car was really the one for me. Its the one that makes you impatient for the next season.

Nice episode. Best so far. Finally they give Dushku something to get her teeth into. Go Tru! (Does that dance that kinda looks like you're stirring a gigantic pot) The title is misleadingly glib. But if Priestley doesn't get a new expression soon, he could get tiring very quickly. And erm... nobody seems to be trying exceptionally hard to stop Jack. They just ask him nicely and then run around more. Surely they understand that he's going to keep doing his thing in their absence? And seriously, Tru has had days and days (and then days and days again) to work on her pitch, and that was her best attempt not to sound like a raving lunatic?
Also, and it hit me about 15 minutes in: All the characters need to worry about their hair. It's f**king awful, without exception. Priestley has some sort of... bowl... of hair... just growing from the top of his head. Davis seems to be trying to comb it around into a big swirly pile. Harrison's head would look like a face even upside down. And Tru has a demi-Farrah. Ordinarily, I wouldn't care, but it's reached the point where it's distracting. I'm trying to concentrate on the gritty heart wrenching drama and wonder if Jack's hair bowl would actually hold water if it rained, at the same time.
Good things though: Excellent acting from all concerned. Hilarious wedding dress. Weightier plotline. Less plot holes than normal. Tru verbally kicking ass. Absolute minimum of running around with phones.
Bad things: Good guys are very, very stupid. What kind of person interrupts somebody in the middle of a reading at their friends wedding to tell them their bro's been shot? Would 40 seconds have made a difference? Tru has the attention span of a crack addicted fruit fly. I really don't think that if the lead was anybody else I'd be looking forward to the next season.
