Do reality shows really depress anyone else?

Great god... Larry Springer. I don't know where to start. The first time I saw a clip from the JS Show, years ago, I thought it was an over-the-top parody from some raunchy comedy movie. I was shocked when I found out they're actually doing this show for real. :jawdrop:

I'll shock you a bit more:

Jerry Springer is brilliant. He went to one of the best law schools in the US, was an aide to Robert Kennedy, was mayor of Cincinnati, was a TV news anchor, and ran for governor of Ohio. Why he chose to peddle such sadness and misery is beyond me. What a waste of a brain.

What really made me angry was how ABC kept ridiculous shows like "The Bachelorette/Bachelor" instead of the nice, mystery thriller Happytown!
