Do the Powers Care Anymore?

Do you think they might've thought this is a lost cause, and given up on AI because they're working for W&H? Because, I really think, if they did care, they would send someone with visions to help.

I was surprised that the powers did not send someone to take an active role with the gang. The visions where such a pivotal part of the show and then all of a sudden *poof* and the powers are no more....

Exactly. And, as for Cordy, it was really her choice wasn't it? I mean, the Powers would've never asked Cordy to go back, without her bringing it up first. (I think, maybe I need to watch the epy again)
 
Didn't the Powers say at one point that they couldn't, or maybe it was wouldn't, interfere directly in the day to day affairs of mankind? That was the whole purpose of beings like Whistler, Doyle, Cordy, Angel, and, probably to a lesser extent, the Slayer line. The Powers informed their champions, either through visions or Slayer dreams, of what was about to happen, but the champions were never forced to act against their own free wills. With Cordy gone, Angel didn't have any connection with the Powers, so, in theory, they would have either found or been in search of, a new champion

Then again, maybe the containment of the First Evil and the sudden influx of Slayers after Sunnydale tilted the scales so far in their favor that they just decided to take a break. Then the Senior Partners acted quickly and struck a bargain with Angel before the Powers knew just what was going on.
 
Ok, but that still doesn't explain why the Powers only gave Angel ONE vision to "get him on track". If they really saw AI as their champions they would've sent something, in some form, to help Angel.

Imo, they abandoned him. Then again, Angel was never really on "The Powers' Mission". He kinda had his own mission, and the PTB happened to be working on the same wavelength. (If that made sense)

Maybe its because Cordelia never passed on the visions to anyone else like Doyle did? Or maybe its because the whole thing with Doyle/Cordelia's visions was all part of Jasmine's plot to get reborn into the world and so once her plan failed the PTB didn't care anymore. Cordelia only came back for the visit because the PTB 'owed her one' - for them, it was not about helping Angel angel at all - it was about compensating Cordelia. I think Angel is right to think the PTB abandoned him...

True but they HAD to owe he rone, because they wanted Angel on the side of good, and not manip by W&H, which is why they Owed Cordy one! apart form allowing her to be hij and go evil!
My thing is that you really can't trust the PTB in general. What are they even there for? They're like the Watcher's Council of the world...assuming so much power and yet not really taking part (I have a thing against the Watcher's Council, so shoot me).

Also, Angel was never really that good with just a tiny bit of help. I can't think of a time he's actually been that proactive in terms of the side of good. He waits to be shown the way. Maybe they sets their sights on a new hope or they had a new plan that didn't involve him.

I don't think I answered the question, but there's my 2 cents anyway.

Maybe they abandoned him because they were upset that he agreed to take over the W&H L.A. branch? Maybe they felt he no longer needed the visions because he had such other, more vast resources available to him with W&H.
 
I think Angel has the power now, but they don't bombard him with the visions like Doyle or Cordy because Angel couldn't handle it. Angel's mind is constantly filled with his 340+ years of bad memories and defending LA, gruesome future images would drive the guy over the edge (like they did in the AU).
 
I think the powers do care. I would think they see working for Wolfram and Hart as a bonus in the battle between good and evil. What better way to beat the bad guys, than from the inside. That's why Cordy was sent. As soon as Angel said he quits. She opens her eyes. I think they wanted him there, but just to utilize the powers of Wolfram and Hart for good. He needed to get back to being Angel, just in a fancy new building. Cordy got him back on track.
 
I think they didnt give up on him. Angel had the intentions of changing W&H from the inside out and i think the powers agreed with that notion. Although that was his intention he probably felt a little lost and because of that they brought Corday in to bring him back on track. Maybe they thought that he was doing the right thing and it would benefit in the long run. I mean think about it. W&H was a very big source of evil, and Doyle/Cordelia's visions dealt with little minor people they could help throughout LA. So from a grand scale i guess the powers trusted Angel to do what was best.
