Do you Bangels like Spuffy... a little?

castnoshadow's thread really made me laugh. You are a bunch of funny people!

Anyway, I was wondering. I aim this to the Bangels out there (here). I would really like to know. Do you ever find yourself enjoying a Spuffy scene? Which is actually Spuffy and not just Buffy and Spike fight, for instance? And which scenes do you enjoy? And in what way? Do you find yourself go "aww?" or "that's a good scene?" or even "that seems to be love"? Stretch yourself to admit which Spuffiness you enjoy if at all!

I don't know about the other Bangel fans we have here, but I certainly can enjoy Spuffy cuteness from time to time. Even though I prefer her relationship with Angel, it was cute to see Spike so smitten with her. And especially the scenes in Season 7 where they are close friends, I can appreciate that they had earned a place in each others' lives. 🙂

A genuine Spuffy scene? In terms of romance? No. As pedantic and extreme as that sounds. I watch it, tolerate it but there isn't a single scene where I think "Aww" or "That's nice" or "I'm glad that happened."

EDIT

However, there are Buffy/Riley scenes, Buffy/Satsus scenes (panels?), Angel/Darla and Angel/Nina scenes that I really love and enjoy. It's just Spuffy that I really don't have a taste for.

I'm quite similar to AS and what she said. I think I can quite safely say there isn't a moment in S6 that I find 'cute' or aww worthy but there are some beautiful moments in S7.

When it comes to ships I don't necessarily like, or those that are the nemesis of my own shipping preferences, then the most I can say is 'wow I wish my ship had a scene like that' which is quite the compliment if you ask me 😉

There are "aww" moments in season 6. "Every night I save you" for instance. That was cute and sweet.

1.) AFTER-LIFE - Spike sees Buffy, when they sit on the couch and hold hands and stare into each other eyes. AWWW 😀

3.) "Life Serial" - Aww, Spike helps Buffy up, after she swings, misses, and falls, lol

I don't know, I haven't always hated Spuffy as much as I do right now, I used to just not care about them at all, but I don't remember watching a scene with them and going 'aww' and I sure as hell won't be doing it now!

The scene in season 7 after buffy gets kicked out is the only spuffy I can moderately tolerate. If it makes you feel better though, I hate cangel more than spuffy 😛

In all seriousness, season 6 is where I lost interest watching buffy when it was on tv. Between the network switch, the extreme spuffy-ness, and the mess that is season 6, it lost me. It'll never be my favorite season. Chalk it up to the fact that I like my Spike evil, and my buffy less depressed.

I completely agree with randiann and Chosen Enemy...

I hate Cangel WAY more than I hate Spuffy, but I have never had an aww moment with Spuffy. They just...aren't cute to me. I hate Riley too, but I liked Riley/Buffy way better than Spike/Buffy. I DID, however, have a few aww moments with Riley/Buffy (but only a few).

I shipped Bangel when I first started watching then I was PO-ed at Angel for leaving and shipped Spuffy for a while. Then I went back to Bangel after doing a re-watch, I still have a soft side for Spuffy but my heart will always be with Bangel.

Sure, Spuffy had their moments. I thought it was sweet when Spike told Buffy that he liked seeing her so happy in "Hell's Bells". It was cute the way he stuck around after she died and knew exactly how many days she had been dead. I also liked the way he stood up for her in S7 when the rest of her friends turned their backs on her.

Spuffy may not be my favorite ship but I have no problem admitting they made me smile once or twice. I just like them better as friends than lovers.

I enjoy their relationship in terms of friendship and can even appreciate Spike's feelings toward her to a certain extent. But in terms of romance I never thought to myself "Okay, I can get behind this." Or "Cute!". Not because I'm such a Bangel that I "can't handle it" but because I just like their friendship and witty banter the best.

If you're talking to the those scenes of them naked on the floor or having sex on Dawn's dinner or something similar, no.

But I liked the scene when she told him she's been in Heaven. Or that he knew exactly how many days she was gone.

Actually, the only scene I went aww to was the one when she says to him that she loves him.

Yeah, mostly it's just you, but we wouldn't recognize you any other way.

I'm with Kean. At best, the Spuffy scenes are mildly irritating (but it's only very rarely that the "at best" situation occurs). At no point do they inspire feelings of a warm and fuzzy nature in me. I hate the pairing with a vengeance. I would much rather have seen Buffy/Wood in S7 than a lot of the Buffy/Spike stuff (as long as it didn't get serious enough to prevent the Buffy/Angel kiss in "End of Days"/"Chosen"). I don't remember liking any Buffy/Riley scenes either, but in general they're more tolerable. I don't have the same reaction about Angel/Cordy that I do about Spuffy because I just can't see the romance there, the friendship was awesome and seemed to be good for both of them, and nothing physical actually happened. I won't begrudge them the one kiss they got in "You're Welcome" because that's such an awesome episode and if the girl wants a kiss before she dies, let her have one. Angel/Nina used to bug me a lot, but then I wrote Nina into one of my fanfics and found sympathy for her. I can't fault her for crushing on him; she's a girl with eyes, after all. So now I'm mostly just annoyed at Angel for agreeing to have a relationship with her when he knew it couldn't go anywhere. Angel and Darla have an incredibly fascinating dynamic. You get a real sense of how old they both are when they interact (particularly in S2) that isn't often apparent in their interactions with other people. I don't consider it a threat to Angel's feelings for Buffy because he was never in love with Darla (even though he loved her enough to be willing to die to save her), so I can enjoy it for what it is.

Nope. I don't like Spike. I don't like Spuffy. I don't like them together. The more I rewatch, the more I dislike Spike, tbh.

I'm going to differ from most of the Bangels around here, and answer the initial question with "Yes, more than just a little". I did used to be on the fence after all.

But that doesn't mean that I'm not a huge Bangel fan, that's where my heart lies. So please, Bangels- never kick me out. I'd go into huge cookie dough fudge mint chip ice cream withdrawals!!! 😀

As far as the rest of the 'ships, I'm similar to [MENTION=10901]Taaroko[/MENTION], although I do like Briley. I maybe more of a Briley than a Spuffy!

BTW, although I'm a Spuffy, I really hate Spuffy sex..... but I love Spuffy love (found almost exclusively in Season 7). Does that mean you don't like the kiss at the end of OMWF either?
