I know this is a very personall question anyway I am very curious. Do you believe in heaven and hell? Did you liked the way it was described in BTVS as a blurry somethnig where everybody was fine? Or do you think that there is something other after life?

I don't. I think you either just disappear, like you're asleep, or something close to what Buffy has described, except not really heaven. It's more close to the stories people who died clinical death tell. There's a tunnel, a bright light and you're pulled into it, and then there are many stars, and you're one of them. Nothing has form or gender including you, but you still know you're you (like Buffy says). You're surrounded by many loveale presents, again with no actual form or identity. You're part of the universe. And your life, your family, your experiences, everything, seems like a dream. Like it never really happened. And you feel warm and loved and safe (again, just like Buffy says). You feel home.

That's the true heaven in my opinion. It's not a place. It's the feeling. But I wouldn't call it heaven, the place you're in. You just merge with the universe. That's why I don't believe there's Hell either. We're not judged, there's no one who judges you after you die. No matter what we did in life, we're loved. We're free. We're back to where we came from.

Either that or you're worm food.

nice post. Last sentence made me laugh! :D
I have no idea about what happens after this life. I have hopes and and I have fears but when it comes down to it, I have no theories. I guess I'm just gonna have to wait and see....

I do however have a strong theory about heaven and hell and life on earth now - and that's that we have the ability to create heaven or hell for ourselves every day. I think we have the potential to create heaven on earth - here and now - and hell too. I get kind of exciting when I remember this.

True words!
No, I don't. I believe that when you die it's like falling asleep.
And then your consciousness fades and is eventually gone and your body gets disintegrated by bacteria etc.

Anyway, I like how it's described in BtVS. It would be nice if it were that way.

I believe in afterlife. I dont know what form it would be, or wether or not we'd even be aware of it. But it dont matter what i believe, no one knows. I dont believe life is just some random event in the scale of the universe.

Yeah, I don't think so too!
I believe in 2 different theories and, since there's no way I can know if either is true, I'll list both:

1-our soul leaves our body and enter a new body/plant/animal to continue the circle of life.

2-there's a Heaven and it is probably like what Buffy described. Although i don't believe in Hell. I think everyone is entitled to get to Heaven when they die.

Even if i believe both can be true, I,d prefer the second option, for I don't think anyone would like to be a skunk or an african violet in another life...

I believe in heaven... not sure if I believe in hell.

I'd like to think the people who are truly evil and have no desire for redemption go to hell people like hitler and sociopaths with no remorse...but idk. But I do believe in heaven and that God takes the good people regardless of their religion or anything else. That its judged based on who you were as a person and your actions towards other people.

I'm atheist and materialist, I think that there is nothing behind our lifes, we are living creatures that live and die and that's it. We just happen to have a really developed brain.
So my answer is no 🙂

I don't believe in heaven or hell. I think we just...cease to exist. Ugh it's weird though, I mean people that I know who are not liars or insane, have seen ghosts. I mean how do you explain that? I haven't, and I have to see things with my own eyes to believe it...but still, odd. I just feel like there are logical explanations for those strange occurrences. My mom's side of the family has had some supernatural...things happen. When I was little I apparently spoke to people who weren't there.

But I'm insane so, my experiences aren't so credible 😉 (and kids have wild imaginations...I still do heh).

Haha I wish that there was life after death. The thought of just...being gone and just...not existing is weird. I'd honestly rather go to some hell dimension than cease to exist. Of course in my mind, hell isn't so bad. Sure, you can't watch anything on television but the Whitney pilot, the only movie shown in theaters is Mr. Bean's Holiday, and the muffins are stale...but that's better than nothing.

I hope reincarnation is real. That would be cool. Awesome/nice people with good intentions would be turned into the wind, and assholes who don't say thank you when you hold the door open for them would be turned into colostomy bags. HMPH.

I think it the same thing that happened thousand of years ago, when they thought that lightnings were manifestations of the gods or something: I am sure that what we can't explain now will be explained in the future when science will be more developed.

And I don't feel hopeless or weird about the way I see life, it makes it even more meaningful to my eyes. Life is now, in this time. And everything I do is my responsability, noone else is there to judge me and my decisions do not depend on what is expecting me after death.

I think there is some things humans will never know. No matter how advance science gets

You believe you're insane. But know, I partly believe you're really not and you really did see things. I've never really been sure if ghosts were real or not, but as someone who used to look at photographs and videos in books and TV and see those ghosts, I tend to believe in those things. Not in every shot, but I reallly believe it's possible that those things exist. That's why I think it's possible that you actually saw things. Again, I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts or not, but I do believe there's a possibility they exist. I wouldn't deny it comletely.

Do you mean those guys who hab been dead for some seconds and then saw a white light? I don't know why they see this light. Personally I think it has something to do with the fact that their brain doesn't get enough O2(the gas). Then they start halluzinate. But that's only my opinion to this mysterious "See a light and a green floor with flowers" thing. 🙂 Personally I am very open minded for those who say they saw things which are not explainable. Cause I am sure there will be an explanation for it. And if there is no other explanation left, then you really saw ghosts.

I believe that there is an Eternal Reward and an Eternal punishment, and that what a person does with their life determines which one they receive when they die. Furthermore, I believe that that the potential for what that Reward or Punishment actually consists of is boundless (My mother always saw Heaven as an eternity of being able to sing in the Heavenly Choir. That would bore me crazy. I would rather spend eternity exploring new places, meeting new people and helping them to understand that Spuffy is the only true happiness that Buffy could possibly have)

Interesting theories.

I believe in heaven, simply because if I did not believe that I would see lost loved ones again someday than I see no reason to exist at all.

I do believe in hell but I'm not entirely sure how it is decided whether or not someone goes there.

No I mean that my aunt swears that she saw my dead cousin...standing next to her bed one night. I didn't see it so...who the hell knows haha. I agree that the "white light" thing might be a hallucination or the emergency room lights in the hospital.

Yeah I agree that it could be possible. I just can't believe it til I see it. I mean, maybe I did see it but it was so long ago...I don't remember.

If I could, I'd rep you again 🙂 That's exactly my opinion.
Do you know Richard Dawkins? He's awesome. If you don't know him, you've got to check him out.

Mr Giles agrees: I utterly detest richard dawkins. He's an idiot.

Well, of course you do. You believe in an afterlife and that life isn't "just some random event in the scale of the universe" etc.
But Dawkins tolerates other opinions even though he thinks they're wrong. But people with other opinions often don't tolerate his opinion, which I think is rather sad.

Richard Dawkins! he's the man
I do tolerate his opinion, but i have watched quite alot of Richard Dawkins, and he is quite pushy and 'know it all' with his 'opinions'. Even though, he knows no more than Anyone else that has ever lived.

I don't believe in any afterlife RIGHT now, considering nobody alive can know if there is one. Sure there are stories (even my father told me one about when he got shot and almost died) but it's all speculation in the end. Maybe there is nothing, maybe there is something. Who cares really? We'll find out once we get there. 😉

As for the heaven and hell from the bible? That I will never believe. The whole idea is sooo human. A place for the good people and one for the evil ones... Who's supposed to say what is good and evil again? It's all part of how we see things, and who's to say it is the right way? Is there even a right way? Anyway... When we go down that path, there are so many questions.

Honestly if there is an *afterlife*, it won't be in any way, shape or form like what we can imagine. That's my opinion. 🙂
