....in ghosts? I do.
Well, I think Ive seen two of them, whether it was my imagination or whatever, which I dont think it was.

Yeah i believe in them as actually having an experience with one tends to inspire belief lol

I'm with Lilah, I've never had any experience with ghosts but just coz I haven't doesn't mean there not really. So I really don't know.

Yes, I do. Too many things has happened at one of my friends houses for me not to believe. I also went to Savannah a couple of years ago, and everywhere you went, someone had a ghost story to tell.

I've never had an experience with ghosts myself, so I guess I can't really decide whether they exist or not-which I don't mind. I think I'd never be able to sleep again if I saw a ghost...I'm such a weenie!

Sharing my ghost story lol
I was on a school trip to this big Fort thing and we had to sleep in a camp right next to it.My friends and me all went out in the middle of the night (as you do lol)and we saw this thing and at first we thought nothing of it but then it started to be all shimmery like a ghost(at this point i was sh!tting myself lol)so of course we did the girlly thing of runnig away and we eventually fogot about it but on the last day it happend again and we saw the ghosty thing in our room and we were all MEGA freaked
so thats my story lol

I believe in spirits wholeheartedly.
Being Puerto Rican, it was something that wasn't uncommon to encounter when I was a child.

My mom used to be a medium when I was just a kid...and she could see them sometimes.
It was a power she couldn't understand when she was younger. She thought she was hallucinating when spirits would come to her, and thought she was going insane...so she was in therapy for about two years. But long story short, she met up with people who helped her understand she had a gift, and not mentally ill.

When I was 7 years old, I experienced my first phenomenon. Mind you, I have never actually SEEN the spirit itself, but things that would happen while the spirit was there.
My mom and I were in our living room one winter, when she says to me in Spanish "someone's here for some light", and she pointed towards her bedroom down the hall. At that moment, the bedroom door FLEW open, not slowly creaked open , but flew open. We were the only two in the apartment, and no wind could have caused it because as I said it was winter and all the windows were shut.
My mom spend the rest of that day explaining to me about certain things, and I would be unafraid about subsequent encounters as a result of that.
By the way, what my mom meant by "someone's here for some light" was that infrequently, a spirit would come to my mom for guidance, and she would light a candle for it and say a prayer, and the spirit would leave.

I saw much, but the last time EVER I was privy to phenomena was when my cousin committed suicide when I was 18, and the light went out in my bedroom two nights later. My mom told me he was sitting on my bed, and he wanted my forgiveness so he could go in peace (whole other story I won't go into here).
After that, I haven't encountered anything else for some reason.

My mom had to give up being a medium when I was 13, because she suffered a small heart attack while she was channeling a spirit during one of her seance/meetings (a group of them would meet every Saturday night....yet ANOTHER story I won't go into, lol).
But even after she stopped, she still saw spirits, and still helped them off with a little light and a prayer.
My race, as with other Hispanic races, used to breed a lot of mediums way back in the day, but it's been an ability that has been lost through subsequent generations.

Anyhoo, I hope I haven't bored anybody with all this, but let me tell ya, spirits are real, and they aren't necessarily evil, at least not in my experience.

Feel free to PM me if anyone has any questions.

Good thread here, keep it going, the paranormal can be very fascinating.

Wow, Old Master that's amazing. Your mum must have been so scared as a child.

Like I was saying, i never seen a ghost but after one of my mum's friends died my mum went to see a medium. I just lost a friend at the time in a car accident. At the seance the medium actually spoke about me and how I was feeling and told my mum to tell me that my friend was ok and that everything was gonna be alright.

I saw my grandmother. Although the freakiest thing that has happened to me is on a ghost tour that some friends run in Edinburgh. I've been on tonnes of times, and heard noises. Its in Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh, there is a part of the graveyard called the covenanters prison that is locked off and there is a tomb that is home to a polterguiest (sp?). So I went from hearing noises to having bruises all down my leg. I was asked to do an interview for the BBC about it, since he's my mate I said yeah. Went on the interview, did it and it was cool. Later that night I went back on the tour (as I knew the tourguide) halfway through the tour I was knocked unconcious, I was the 100th person that it happened to. That freaked me out, so he had to cancel the rest of the tour and snuck me away from the cameras to the pub. So after that I believe.

oh no! that is so freaky.. and up setting 🙁 poor ickle fiathy getting konked out. i believe in ghosts also. my story: i was in bed (i was quite youg) an i felt something at the bottom of my bed. as what ever it was sat on my feet as i felt them get pushed down. i was petrified an was to scared to see what it was. i fell asleep with whatever it was sitting on my feet. my bedroom door was shut and it wasnt opend, as i would have heard it. so it couldnt have been my mum or dad.

Wow. Good stories. I am a believer in all that is spooky and unexplained. I have a few boring little stories but nothing I would bother sharing. My mom on the other hand saw her boyfriend when she was about 17-18. He had gone of into the millitary and one night she woke up and saw him siting in a chair at the end of her bed with his feet proped on the actual foot of her bed. She looked at him and said "What are you doing here?" He smiled at her and she kinda noded off again being only half awake to begin with. The next morning my grandma woke her with the horrible news that he had drown. The creepy part was when she saw the foot of her bed there was dirt and mud on the end where his feet had been.

Yes. I have a ghost in my apartment. And I am not kidding. I asked all of my friends and they've all seen him too. They all described him exactly the same way without ever having talked to each other. Never mind all the freaky incidents that have taken place in my apartment. Ghosts are real..I nicknamed mine Dennis after the beloved Dennis in Cordy's apartment.

Hahaha! How creepy! Aren't you afraid to shower? I would be so freaked out! You're a brave girl!

I never seen a ghost but 2 of my mates have they was in a wood and they saw like 2 silvery things walk past them. I wo like bloody hell.
I think theres a ghost in my house...weird stuff happens at my yard...

we had a sleep over in the summer before 8th grade and we were at me ex friend house and she said she had ghosts. She said at exactly 7pm the fosset in the bathroom will turn on, the light will turn on (or off, if it was already on) the tv will turn on (or off it was on) so we waited and it realy hapend. the foset turend on and off, the light turend off and the tv turned off....we were scared but i think she had it planed the whole time, it could of been a joke but i dont know.

Yup I'm a true believer in everything spiritual or supernatural.

I used to go to a spiritual circle, where basically we would learn to develop our psychic talents, this often included contacting spirits, as they would help to teach us different abilities.

I remember one spirit was a young guy who had died in a motor bike accident, but he couldn't accept that he had died, and also couldn't find his way to the light, so we basically had to get him to concentrate on the light of our candle, while our teacher relived the accident with him, so he could see what had happened and accept that he had died, then she held his hand and walked him to the light, where he then happily passed over.

When Sarah (Cordelia from here) my wife and I moved into our first flat, we used to have some things happen there, the main thing was that, when we were in bed at night we would hear strange noises, we would get up to see what it was only to find that the pictures we had on the walls going up the stairs had all had the glass smashed out of them, which was all over the stairs, but the picture and the frame were still on the wall.

In our next house Sarah was on the couch on her own and saw a little girl in the chair opposite her, just sitting there wiggling her legs and just looking at her. She was dressed in old fashioned clothes and had her hair tied in ribbons.

The house we are in now, is also very active too, quite often we hear someone going up or down our stairs, and quickly glimpse someone there too. We have often heard a baby crying upstairs (which is definitely not ours, as she is usually with us). Also we have a little girl who visits us often, our house is one of four in a terrace, and she runs through all four of them and has been seen by all our neighbours, we think she is from the mines that are apparently under our houses. When we are outside in the garden our windchimes will sometimes chime, even when there is no wind to move them, obviously spirits just leting us know they are here with us. Plus there are other occurances, too many to go in to detail about 'lol' 🙂

There are loads more things that have happened to us over the time, and obviously this has made us huge believers in ghosts/spirits, etc. In some respects we actually find it quite comforting that they are there with us, especially when they are family members that have passed over. 🙂

Anyhoo, sorry for the rambling and the long post, but I just wanted to pass on some of my experiences. 'lol' 🙂
