Do you find him nice??

Nice ? That's kind of a wussy word for such a passionate character but considering the alternatives, sure he's 'nice'. Gentle ? Sometimes. When someone is hurting he can be very gentle like the time when Willow has so badly screwed up with Dawn ( the car accident ) and it looked like Buffy was going to leave her behind, Spike without saying a word gave her comfort and drew her along with them even though Dawn had turned away from her. He understands what it means to screw up. He has compassion. Even at his most violent he took no pleasure in torture.

I guess I'm a little thrown by your choice of words. Spikes not the first character that comes to mind when I hear nice and gentle. For sure that would be Tara. But I chose sometimes because Spike had tendencies toward Buffy that were gentle and sincere. Especially after he was ensouled. But for the most part I think Spike is rude, self-centered, sarcastic, and brutal...and honestly, thats what I liked about him. What can I say, I've got a sweet spot for bad boys. :doctor:

I'd have to say yes...but maybe it's more sensitivity, more passion than 'niceness' - he has no soul yet he did behave in a truly caring manner towords Dawn, Buffy (sometimes) and the gang in general (by helping them out). And his reaction when Buffy sacraficed herself in The Gift...well that most certainly shows some form of 'niceness' within that witty exterior..
