Do you hate season 4

Okay I know alot of people do ,but I just wanted to discuss why. I mean the whole Connor and Cordy thing was just too gross I dont care if she was possessed ewwwwww. But to be fair i have been going over and over in my head as to just how would you be able to have made the season differently.
I get that in season 4 cordy was suppose to make the whole evil turn as willow had did in season 6 of buffy ,but willow's turn was was wonderful. Cordy's not so much and yes we all know Charisma was pregnant in real life so she couldn't do as much. but maybe they should have had jasmine's coming some other kind of way. And continue to hide charisma's pregnancy into she went into that coma idk. But i think we all can admit there were some good episode not counting any with connor whining. You know something just realised the writers of angel must be crazy or something because for alot of episodes on buffy they reintroduced on angel. It can't be a coincidence both connor and dawn were sooooo annoying.
 
I think season four ruined the whole show. Connor was an annoyance and totally destroyed the world.
The Evil Cordy/Jasmine/Connor thing was so ridiculous and then of course what happened to Cordelia.

Season four was the beggining of an awful ending to ANGEL.

I agree on seaons 4. But wouldnt say that season 4 was the end. Angel season 5 was brillant and funny and what an ending.
 
i remember watching s4 but i do not remember any of it it's like my brain removed the horrible pice of poo that season was.....



but i loved s5:: vampire
 
First something good about that season: Didn't anyone else just love 'Spin the Bottle'? Okay, it was somehow a lot like Tabula Rasa (there are so many parallels between s6 of Buffy and s4 of Angel) but still it was awesome!
Now to the less pleasant parts of the season: Well, my favourite character was put in a coma she never really woke up from, Cangel was going down the hills, with the added yuckfactor of Connor sleeping with Cordy, we also had Lilah dying, and Wesley and Gunn fighting over Fred.
Okay, now that I seriously think about s4 I realize not everything was bad. Weslah was great, so were Faith and Angelus. Plus some standalone episodes, like I already said.
Well, summing up s4 was still one of the weaker season imo, and I'll never get over certain things that happened there, but it's still watchable.
 
Well, to be honest. Season four has a lot of downside to it, but I would never go as far to say that I hate it. But since Angel (just as Buffy and Firefly) is as good as it is, a bad season looks much worse in comparison than it really is. And it still has some very good moments. I just can´t seem to stop laughing when I watch "Spin the bottle" and listening to the commentary neither could the actors at times. There´s a reason Wesley and Angel hardly look at eachother. 😉 And although I love Angel, Angelus beats him by a mile. I´m not through rewatching season 4 so I can´t give a finished opion on my thoughts. But I´ll never go as far to say I´m hating it that´s for sure. Hating some of the things that happens is a whole other story.
 
I'm only on episode 12, and I DEFINITELY don't hate it! I love watching Angel, because unlike Buffy, I have no idea what's going to happen. I can't wait till S5 comes on next week!
 
I don't hate it but I felt like it should have tied in more with BTVS S7. Was Jasmine supposed to be an agent of the First? They didn't even mention The First at all, even though that is how Angel was supposed to have been brought back from the hell dimension. Also when the sun went black in L.A. could they see it in Sunnydale too? I was pretty disappointed that they didn't have The First messing with Angel again. Lilah would have been a perfect face for The First instead of bringing her back from the dead which was cheesy as hell.
 
I happen to love season 4. The first time (second time too actually) around I hated it. But for some reason the more I watched it the more I fell in love with it. One of my favorite seasons now. Like it much better than season 5. Don't get me wrong, season 5 is great, but something about season 4 I just dig. And come on...Fear, Itself, Hush, A New Man, New Moon Rising, and Primeval. Amazing.

ok i ahve wached most of it and it is better then a lot of shows on to day the first half was good but as soon as the jazmine (sp) and conner cordy thing happened not so good. but angeluse love, faith love, evil skipp i forgot abought that!

ok maybe it wasn't as bad as i thought i take back previuse statement in theis thread

No, there´s a newscast telling it´s just over L.A.

The thing is thats since the shows were on different networks, especially the one that showed Angel didn´t want to mention the buffy show at all. I still don´t know how they managed to get Willow on Angel. I don´t have much nowledge about this. Maybe someone can fill us in?

You do know that we´re discussing Angel season 4 not Buffy right? 😉
 
I think Season 4 of Angel was the one I disliked the most.. Just because Cordelia was really growing as a character, and then they just turned her into some evil thing and then she was gone. :S She was always my favourite. And just the whole Connor thing was incredibly annoying too. I disliked Jasmine a lot too, so around the middle of the season I always skip the rest of the episodes because I hate rewatching them. The whole season was just focused around 1 thing and it was very different from going out and helping people and such, which I liked about the other seasons. Their company and all that. It didn't feel the same.
Oh and didn't anyone else find it really annoying how Connor kept on saying "I'm connected to the beast" !@#&^#

i think its the worst one out the 12 seasons of buffy and angel(its still quite good though)
Jasmine was not a good big bad and connor did spoil it a bit. also, wesley, cordy, gunn and fred were not as good as the previous 3 seasons.
taking away the angelus/faith episodes it was pretty weak.
 
Hmm now how did I miss that?! Must have been one of those crazy days that I keep having. Ok so season 4 of Angel sucked! Sorry...I hated it. Well there were some ups, like the beast, and...well that's it. I don't feel good about it. But Willow's visit was cool too.
 
I don't think season 4 was all that bad. I don't know anyone who didn't think the cordy and connor thing was awful but the season was exciting to watch at the time as you really didn't know what would happen next. Although that in itself made the show feel a bit trashy, building to a cliffhanger at the end of almost every episode.

But I did feel some sympathy for connor at the end. On buffy, dawn was a whiner and she had a great life compared to connor. I think he has good reasons to act the way he does.
 
I know this is not going to be a popular opinion but Connor didn't bother me at all, I thought he was a good addition to the cast and liked how his story played out (yes, even the Cordelia thing). It's not like he remembered her and I just don't see her as his mother figure at all. On her side obviously she was possessed. I actually liked the story and portrayal of Jasmine, my biggest problem (and it's HUGE) is that is wasn't tied in to BTVS s7 enough. I mean the ultimate evil is trying to take over the world, so obviously she must have some kind of connection to it.

I'm one of the possibly VERY few to agree with you.
I really liked S4. To me, Jasmine was in the Top Three of the best Big Bads ever, on either show. (Come on, no other BB managed to get me to root for him/her/it, against the heroes!) And while I can see why so many people are annoyed by Connor and grossed out by "Condelia", I share neither feeling. I can relate to Connor's lostness well (I guess hatred for a parent makes for a strong connection :sigh🙂, and the sex thing it's not as Freudian as it looks at first glance, actually I consider it far closer to the original Oedipus tragedy than to Freud's spin on the story.

Hm... just thinking... perhaps it's a boon to me that German TV messed up the parallel chronology of the two shows so badly? Angel S4 only just finished its first airing here, S5 is currently premiering, while it's already a few years since "Chosen" first aired. AS4 is probably better if you don't parallel it with BS7. I mean, I had lost track of the timeline completely, and wasn't even consciously aware that the Jasmine arc was unfolding at the same time as Buffy prepared for the big runin against the FE, so that only got me thinking after watching and enjoying the season.
 
I liked season 4. it had Faith and Angelus which are two of my fave characters. To be honest i prefer Angelus to Angel. For some reason i like all the evil characters. I know Faith isn't evil in this season but i still like her
 
I think my main gripe with this season is I was just starting to like cordy and then they turn her into this evil thingo and I still dont understand it all! I do love when angel is trying to explain zombies to conner though, I thought that was pretty funny 😛
 
I think people are letting the Oedipus Connor/Evil Cordy thing ruin it for them, mostly. Remember, guys, a show cannot be exciting if we don't have characters send their boyfriends to a hell dimension for 100 years, leave their wives-to-be at the altar, or kill a character's girlfriend right after they just made up.

But seriously, I think people are letting their personal hatred for these two things blind them from the beauty of the season. It's just so powerful, and depressing at the same time.
