My friend insists that I have an accent. Some mixed thing between Southern, valley and God knows what else. But I know this is a very international board so I was curious, who has an accent? What kind?

I tawk a bit like a New Yawka, but we're all just people like everyone else, drinkin ouwr cawfee out of a cup 😀

I think everybody has an accent to everyone else. 😀 I'm not sure what a Canadian accent is Jill (lol!!!!) but I guess I have one too! LOL

I always do mock-Canadian accents (no offense!) because my friends are from and air force base there. They pronounce "out" = "owt"

LOL see I don't know what a Canadian accent is. Spell out how you would pronounce out so I can compare. 😀

I have an accent, both in Norwegian and English. In Norway there's alot of accents, and Bergen where I come from has a very special one (and beautiful one, just so you all know!) I'm not sure what kinda accent I have in english, probably a mix between british english, american english and scandinavians way of speaking english...lol

My friends say i got a Southren Accent borderline northren too they call me a 7 year old southren cheerleader cuz they say i sound like 7 yrs old on the phone and then i got the southren accent going on and i say Like way to much but i so dont think i sound southren maybe its just me

I have a Jersey accent. And I stutter, so sometimes to keep myself from stuttering I over pronounce the word so it comes out really weird sometimes.

I'm Canadian, so I presume that I have an accent. Although it's not as pronounced as those living on the east coast.

p.s. Jenny, to most people the Canadian accent is like the people on the east coast.

I was thinking how strong the Newfoundland accent is...even compared to the rest of the East Coast (my family is in Cape Breton). I suppose you're right, even though I don't think I sound ANYTHING like an East Coaster! 😀

lol... Neither do I, but I guess there is a bit we hang on to though. After all I say "roof", not "rough."

Ditto - I guess we do and just don't realize it! :D
Just a question to the Canadians...Were you insulted by the portrayal/accents of the Canadians in the South Park movie? I always wondered... 😀

Not me I was lmfao. I loved the movie and I have it on DVD. In the end the movie wasn't really insulting Canadians, rather it was a really sly dig at Americans (I don't mean that in an offensive way).

Oh I know...I just love that movie myself, thought it was funny that they'd pick Canada of all countries to be enemies with. I actually took a class on Canada a couple of years ago and someone asked the professor that, but he was old and never saw the movie. 😀
