I love season 5 , It Is my favourite season of all time ,my favourite episodes are Real Me, Out of My Mind, No Place Like Home, Family,Fool for Love,Shadow,Into the Woods,Check point, Blood Ties, The Body, Intervention, Spiral , The Weight of the World May and The Gift. These are the reason I like season 5.
1) Brilliant episode ,also the best villain of all time Glory aka Hell god !
2) Funny , with Anya and her Money especially when Anya plays the game of life , and she thought she was losing but then Xander said that she was winning and then she wants to swap her pink children for more money.
3) fight scene

I give this season overall 100/100 . !
:thought:::bbat::

I loved this season too. To me its the last of Buffys great seasons.
My favorite episodes are Fool for love, Crush and Buffy v Dracula. I like the Body but find it overrated.
The Buffy-Dawn-Glory arc is the main reason that made this season so good though.
Also, Spikes funniest year, check out him talking to mannequin Buffy ha ha, hitting its head with the chocolates.

It's my favorite season too. So many good episodes, it's hard to pick....I think...Fool for Love was probably my favorite. But I pretty much love all of them that season.

Same !
Personally I hated most of it, but I realise I'm in somewhat of a minority there.

"Fool for love" and "Body" were great episodes but most of the others stunk big time!

Selig, its not just you. I find the season boring, i hate glory, and i just wish there was a better overall story. but yes Body one of the best episodes ever, Fool for Love also amazing, and definitely one of the best finales, i just feel it was wasted on a not so interesting story. I was Made to Love You i think is also fantastic, it really is one of those tug at your heart string moments at the end of that episode.

So yeah a couple stand outs ,but its hard for me to get through the season.

I Hate I Was Made To Love You and your feelings about season 5 are the same as mine about season 4 and 6.
No not really.

Glory sucked. I suppose my real problem is with Clare Kramer and not actually Glory, actually, no its both. I just think, hell god? Come on, there are so many ways to make 'hell god' work, and they seemed to have stumbled on the worst possible idea, the cheesy drama queen just fell flat for me, I didnt find it funny or quirky, I found it a little cringe worthy in places. Still, there were some brilliant episodes in this season, and the creation of Dawn was inspired. It was nice to see Buffy scared for once because vamps were getting too easy at this point, and the Gift was magnificent.

As much as i love season 5 i understand why some may find it a bit boring. It lacks the 'big' episodes of earlier seasons and the big bads weren't as good compared to earlier seasons(spike/faith/dru/mayor>>>>>glory+no sidekicks)
but its still good though. 🙂

It's my favorite season, Big Bad, and finale. It just had really good episodes and plotlines, i thought. I love The Body, Listening To Fear (mostly cause it creeps me out), Spiral, Weight Of The World, The Gift, and so many more.

Easily my favorite, I find every episode to be at least good. I also give it the award for best episode (The Body), best Big Bad (Glory), best ending (The Gift) and Arc (Glory/Bed/Dawn/etc).

Same :)
Well, one thing I loved about it was that everything they needed to beat Glory was well set-up in advance (as opposed to say... s7 where they stumble across the scythe right near the end, and oh! it was in Sunnydale all along! How convenient!).

Glory had been demonstrated as clearly out of Buffy's league. So to beat her, they needed the Robot Buffy, the Dagonsphere, Willow uses that spell to reverse some of the psychic energies Glory had taken, and they have Olauf's magical hammer. Everything came together, they used it all in one battle, and managed to take her down. I thought that part was really well done, and a lot less Deux Ex Machina than the ending of s4, where they just unite into a super-slayer to beat Adam (I still wonder why they didn't try that against Glory or the uber-vamps, or Caleb, or any other threat that ever seemed worse than usual. I'm glad they didn't - I just wish they'd have beaten Adam some other way).

And yes, though the overall arc wasn't as strong as some of the other seasons, it had some truely brilliant eps in it and a VERY strong conclusion that really helped to make it a strong season overall. I'd give it 90/100.

glory is one of my favorite "big bads" (the mayor and angelus are up there too) this season really had an emotional effect on me as well. i felt a strong connection to all the characters exspecially buffy in the "the body"

Season 5 is brilliant. 🙂 I wasn't sure how it was going to work when I first heard about Dawn, but I loved how they wove the character into the Buffyverse and explained her presence. And Glory is my favorite Big Bad ever- how can you not love her? 😀

I was PISSED the first eps of the season when Dawn was just magically there (before I knew that she was, well, magically there). I thought they were going to have us believe that Buffy had had a sister all along. But I calmed down when I found out what was really going on lol

Yeah I was the same way!!
It's right up there for me amoungst my favourites. It's not the funniest season. In fact, I find it less funny than season six but I really enjoy it. I like Glory, I like the characters development. Yeah, good season

You don't think it's funnier than S6?? Why not??
I think that, today, I decided that season 5 is my favorite. Codifying the seasons like this is difficult for me because they're all so unique, and I wouldn't really say that I dislike any season... I couldn't put them in an order from my favorite to least favorite, but season 5, at least, is at the top.

I've thought a lot about Glory, and once I decided that I love her, I started to like the season a lot more. It seemed silly at first to have a Valley Girl Hell Goddess, but it kind of made sense given her back story. And it was hilarious, and it fit with the whole theme of Valley Girls breaking from their traditional roles.

You know... tiny blonde girl, saver of the world multiple times over. Tiny redhead, unstoppable power... ??

Plus, Anya moved up to regular cast member was just brilliant.

I was PISSED the first eps of the season when Dawn was just magically there (before I knew that she was, well, magically there). I thought they were going to have us believe that Buffy had had a sister all along. But I calmed down when I found out what was really going on lol

That was one of the things that always bugged me about Buffy, before I started watching Buffy. It was one of my hang-ups on the show. I even remember talking with a friend a few years ago and somehow BtVS came up, which was weird since at the time neither of us had ever really watched the show. He asked me something about "where did Buffy's sister come from all the sudden anyway?".

Now I think it's quite smart, even though Dawn is kind of... you know... annoying. They made it work really well, and even though Dawn isn't many peoples favorites she made quite an impact on Buffy and Joyce.

Season Five was one of my favorites as well. I think it was beautifully written with a great mix of drama and comedy. I think this was the Season that stepped up the game for the show. They all thought it was going to be the last season and the writing shows.

There are so many great episodes! Buffy's mom dies a completely normal and natural death... the introduction to Dawn who at first I absoluteBy hated but have grown to love to Glory! Just a great season over all.. Let's not forget Buffy Bot and even when Faith and Buffy switch bodies! Aww.. I am getting nostalgic 😉

Season 5 was great, I loved it every time Glory turned, not because of her looks but her attitude. The idea of a sudden sister was a neat idea too, I was wondering how I would feel if I woke up and found out that I had gained another sibling over night!
