Do You Like Those Sad Episodes?

Yea, I love them too... I rarely get sad watching shows, but with BtVS and AtS it's different. I just feel for some of those characters so much! There are two episodes I have a hard time rewatching just for *fun*, tho. 'The Body' and 'A Hole In The World'. Those two are pretty depressing(yet amazing), so if I'm in a bad mood myself, I won't dig it.

I just don't like The Body... it's "too close to home" so I prefer not to watch it. The other ones I love!

I agree with what most people here have said. For me the sad ones are the best - I just love watching the drama, the characters reactions. Anything with heartbreak is the best kind of episode for me! Often these sad episodes have the most amazing music like Remembering Jenny in Passion, Sacrifice in The Gift, Close Your Eyes in Becoming Part 2, which adds to the emotion that you feel! Often though some sad episodes are so poignant because of the music being completely stripped away, like in The Body!

I think the fact that there was a balance between happiness and sorrow was one of the things that made the show as good as it was.

I love Buffy for 5 things:
1)The story
2)the actors
3)The EMOTIONS
4)the sense of humor
5)action

So I think emotions good or bad should be part in every BTVS or Angel episode!!! I really love them. But not too much. If there are only Emotions I think the story gets bored. There has to be a change from this 5 criteria. That's why I really love BTVS so damn much!!!

Graduation Day Part 2...when Buffy dreams about Faith, that has made me cry before. Jenny's death never has. That was more intense than sad in my opinion. I don't know. I cry at really strange things. The way something is shot can make me cry more than the situation itself. If The Body hadn't been done the way that it was...it might not have had such a huge impact on me. That's the saddest episode of the series to me, and it's not JUST because Buffy's mom dies.

I mean Restless comes in second for the episode that makes me feel the most emotional. So yes, I do tend to skip the ones that make me sad (well, not sad because tears don't always = sad) because I don't always feel like crying haha. What I'm trying to say is, I don't skip episodes like Passion, Innocence, Seeing Red, because those episodes don't truly make me feel that sad. I find those episodes to be intense and I love, love, love to watch them. Although Seeing Red always sort of pisses me off a little bit.

But yeah, weird things tend to make me sad.

I shed a little tear when I first saw Reprise...whereas I didn't cry at all when I first watched A Hole in the World. It also depends on what's happening in my life when I see an episode for the first time.
