Do you like to read books??

Luv reading....haven't had a wholotta time lately though. I have read books from many categories: self help, history, suspense, horror, romance and beyond...I have to say that I luv romance the best and childrens books. I have a hobby of buying children's books.
 
I love Harry Potter, too. That is to say, I am a HUGE fan. I've read book 5 twice already and the other books 3 times in German and once in English. I read HP5 in one weekend because I was so afraid that somebody would tell me who's gonna die, so I read all day and all night long (except for sunday afternoon, where I went to a fun fair, but that's off topic).

And yes, I DO read other books as well 😉

I like fantasy, historical novels and I read a lot of teenage fiction (just finished "After the First Death" and just read the first chapter of "Catcher in the Rye") and also the so-called classical literature (mostly German and English, such as Goethe, Shakespeare, Kafka, the Brontes, Jane Austen and and and).

I am also very much interested in sociology and psychology, especially gender studies. I read a lot of books about that as well.
 
I just read 3 or 4 Buffy-related books and there's no way I'm gonna get more....I just ended'White Oleander'-suberb book!!!!
 
Never been a big fan of books, get neck cramp easily and a fidget so I cant get in a comfy position. I might do Eng Lang next year at AS level as I want to be a script writer. I think reading on the one hour bus ride might help. I want to start reading more books to get used to reading quickly.

I like kinda supernatural/unusual events books.

i think i have like 200 books, and that's not a joke...

my fave books have to be; girl, interupted by suzanna kasen, that one is amazing! but the bestses book ever is PRACTICAL MAGIC by Alice hoffman... man can that woman write... i started re reading it last week, but i don't have time to read right now(well that is, i have to do school stuff, i have to read alot about crime, and statistics.. i take criminology)
i acually baought a new book tofday LOl i baought micheal moores new book "dude, where's my country?" i love M.more! he is so funny, and he does it in a serious way!

i also got a book in the mail the other day, seasons of the witch, a charmed book.

i read charles dickens book; great expactations... man that was a good one

I love it when I have time to read...I got hooked on horror at a young age and now I like Stephen King and Dean Koontz. When I'm looking for something a bit different though I love to read stuff by Kahlil Gibran. Oooohhh...I also like naughty Buffy fan fic! But only once in awhile... :: red dev
 
I like movies beter, but there are some books that I love like Harry Potter or Shakespear (nice combo!)
 
Polexia, I just finished reading Great Expectations before I started Peter Camenzind. What an amazing read, I really like Dicken's narrative. I'm going to order the David Lean movie adaptation from amazon... I've heard it's good, have you seen it?
 
no i haven't seen it, but maybe i'll check it out... yeah that book is just so great! but i have to admit, wvery time pip get's imbarresed over joe, i had to put it down.. it was like i was acually a shemed of pip LOL i do that sometimes(like seeing imbaresing things on tv i get all ... well let's just say i can't watch and start walking around, waiting for it too be over 😉)

I'd try Richard Laymon if you're ever in need of some horror kicks......Very good!!His best is probably "Savage" but you can't go wrong with any of his oeuvre ......😉
 
I love historical fiction. They're just so good! For some reason, I don't find the books in the Buffy and Angel series all that interesting.

It seems like I'm the only one in my family to use my spare time to read books for fun! You'd think someone in my family would once in a while read something other than a newspaper.
