Given that @SavvyScoobie mentioned jewellery in the shopping thread, do you wear much? Do you like it, even if you don't wear much? And what do you like?

I used to wear quite a bit, with a couple of earrings, multiple necklaces, pendants, bangles, rings. bracelets and a watch, but I cut back. I still like it; I just don't wear as much. I always preferred gold, preferably gold-gold rather than coloured. Gems, well, I am not really a fan of ordinary blue-white diamonds, as I prefer stones with some colour. However, I am always willing to accept no-strings-attached ordinary diamonds... 😀

I don't go anywhere that justifies wearing it anymore. I would just lose it in the garden or swimming, or bushwalks to see ponies. If I wore it to the local shops it'd be asking to be punched in the face and robbed nowdays lol. I do wear my gold watch when I go out, so that I dont have to pull my phone out every time I want to know the time.

When I was younger, like you I was more jewellery heavy - rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelet, watch all at once.
Then I went through periods of concentrating on one thing, like necklaces.

Nowadays, I'm into rings and earrings, maybe a bangle. Not talking about overloading and wearing a ring on each finger every time I go out or multiple bracelets; it's more minimalist, and cleaner designs. I think I've moved away from big, bulky rings.

I'll also mix metals if I feel like it.

Yes, on an everyday basis I would only wear a few things, but if going out, I would load up with more.

Yeah, I would go overboard sometimes! 😀 Rings on nine fingers (counting both thumbs as fingers) - one of which easily fitted on my ring finger too. Which doesn't get rid of as many people as you would like. Heck, it attracts some! It would mostly be gold-gold, but a little bit of white and rose. I don't think silver works well with my complexion, though.

I have a little bit of costume jewellery, but not much. Certainly no overly long accidents waiting to happen necklaces.

I tried recently getting back into wearing a ring on my thumb - it felt weird!

I guess it also depends on the design of the ring too?

Same - with earrings. Now they're just sitting there in the jewellery box.

I feel naked without earrings on. I used to have tons of pairs but these days I usually just wear my silver hoops 'cause they go with everything. I don't like necklaces much, 'cause they tend to get in the way of my work badge, but I do like to wear them when I dress up. I can't stand bracelets though. I feel like they just get in my way and jangle around too much.

With earrings, I only ever wore studs or tiny hoops and wound up just stopping wearing them. I still like looking at them... :D
I wear earrings all the time, generally pretty discreet ones.

I have a couple of necklaces and once in a blue moon I use them

I own a couple of rings and bracelets that have been given to me but I never wear them. Something about jewellry on my jands and wrists gives me panicky feelings and I have to take them off almost immediately

I do wear jewelry. I collect 80s vintage costume jewelry, like earrings and bangles bracelets which I wear regularly. I don't wear necklaces often because it bothers me to have anything on my neck. I also been wearing some of my late mother's jewelry recently, mostly her rings. I also have some nicer rhinestone jewelry I wear for special occasions if I'm dressing up.

If costume jewellery is old enough, is it really costume jewellery or instead some kind of collectable? Especially as its age would suggest it's better made.

I don't mind necklaces, but I've only ever worn fairly short ones, due to a, not exactly unjustified, concern about throttling myself with a longer one. They would get caught on handles. I'd hate to have a job that required wearing a lanyard...

@SavvyScoobie what'd they look like?

They're cuffs - and here's the problem with earrings; you obviously cannot try them on in store/online when making your purchase and sometimes you realise your mistake until it's too late. My piercings sit a bit lower so the earrings don't sit as they probably should. But I'll make them work!

My inner magpie still loves them - they're so sparkly! 😁

And places here won't take earrings back in many cases.
