I wouldn't be venturing into strange and slightly creepy fanboy-land (read: my local comic store) once a month if it wasn't canon. Although the guys in there now remember my face and know what I want when I walk in. I imagine there must be other females who go there because I've seen one or two on occasion... The guy at the register is even a Buffy fan, but I'm not a comic fan, so while I might complain about the artwork in a couple of the issues, he might show me some artwork in some other comic that he says really rocked, and then try to explain how art does or doesn't influence a story, and how a story influences artwork, and other assorted small talk about weather and movies and cars which means I think he's flirting. But anyhoo. I'd rather have S8 as not-a-comic, but this is far, far better than S8 not-at-all.
Btw, I think you can get little holders for your pile of comics so you can prop them up next to your DVDs. 😀
