Question Do you prefer cats or dogs?

Personally I prefer cats, however, among dogs, I also like big dogs as German Shepherds.

I grew up with both, but cats I find are easier, aka no need to exercise them with walks in all weathers.

I've never really gotten to know a dog, I had a cat when I was 4 and I've had two cat nephews that belong to close friends. I've never been close friends with anyone that has a dog. So I would have to choose cats, but I think pugs are adorable.

I used to be afraid of dogs when I was younger and after having my best buddy for nearly a decade I could never imagine not having a dog. I love my boy more than life. Lol

My cat does, if I ask him to come to me."come see me" he usually does. He knows his name, and a few other things.

Dogs. Absolutely dogs. Poodles in particular. Elegant goofballs.

I am not a fan of free roam cats. I see how much damage they do to all the beautiful birds and lizards here. Everyone I have met in Oz who had an outdoor cat, has had one bring a snake into the house - not always dead.
I adore indoor cats because they tend to be more human oriented and cleaner. I cant stand the smell of kitty litter, but I truly will not be surprised if I end up with cats one day.

Used to be cast when I was young, but dogs these days (although I agree that cats are easier to care for.

I knew someone that liked both equally because they had two dogs and a cat. But I hated him so I don't trust his judgement.

thrasherpix I can think of a cat who saved a "I've fallen and can't get up" old man, and another cat who saved a small child from a vicious dog that lived next door, dragging the child off until the cat attacked and chased it off.

Supposedly cat tastes a lot better than dog so I think more people are cat people. The real question would be cat or horse. But I suspect people eat horsemeat and are unaware of doing so. Hello McDonalds.

I LOVE cats. Their independent spirit really appeals to me. And when they give you that "slow blink" you KNOW they love you. But you never know when they'll have mood swings. Like, you'll be petting them, they're purring and snuggling in your lap....then suddenly they'll bite you and run into the bedroom. Then 30 minutes later, they'll come back and give you the "I'm hungry and my bowl is empty" meow. 😄
