Do you read fanfic?

Other than Buffy fanfic that is. If so what fandoms are you into? Any special type of fanfic you like reading? Any type you stay far, far away from?


Oh, and links are welcomed as well. Link us to your favourite non-BtVS fanfics and tell us what's so good about them.
 
I don't like, seriously read fanfic, but I read really bad fanfic over the phone with my best friend. The best place to find really, really bad fanfic is in the fandoms for bands that attract teenyboppers. Stuff like Good Charlotte, Fall Out Boy, etc.
There's also a lot of really bad Harry Potter and CSI fanfic out there.
I particularly enjoy trying to pronounce all the awkward spelling and punctuation errors the authors make, and being really dramatic while reading this stuff out loud.
 
Yup. Jane Austen fanfic. And I used to read Lonesome Dove fanfic. The well's kind of drying up on that one, though. I write, too.

I stay far away from any other type of fanfic, though. Not sure why. Time, maybe.
 
No, I don't like getting my hopes up. I mean if it isn't going to happen it isn't. Sometimes I will read something and think, "Oh gosh, that would have been beautiful" then squash, I come back to reality. And am crushed, lol. It's all good tho.
 
I used to be really into Harry Potter fanfic, but either my tastes have gotten a bit more mature there a whole lot more rubbish writers on ff.net these days.

I mean how many stories with american exchange students, who happen to be complete perfect in every single way, coming to Hogwarts and having Harry and/or Draco fall in love with them, do we need?
 
I started out reading Highlander fan fiction back when the show was o. I went through that through crossovers between the two shows to the Buffy fan fiction. I've pretty much stuck with that ever since. One of the things I like about Buffy fan fiction is that you can pick pretty much whatever you want to read and it's out there somewhere. Any pairing, any maturity level, any season, you can find what you're looking for.
 
I used to read the fanfics years ago. Now I write my own, but I push the boundaries as far as I can, and I've had a few refusals. I must admit I like fanfics that make you think. What was it Anya said, ' think outside the envelope people '.
I take stories I've gotten stuck with, re-write them as fanfic and usually get new ideas which I'll convert back. That way many new themes can appear as fanfic.
