Do you remember the precise moment when you fell in love with BtVS, and/or your particular favorite character? (I'm only asking about BtVS because I'm just now starting AtS, but if you want to talk about AtS instead that's fine.)

In about September 2010 iTunes made a bunch of premiere episodes available for free. I watch t.v. on my iPod Touch during my mid-day elliptical workouts, so I downloaded a bunch of the free eps. Fortuitously, I decided to watch BtVS first, not knowing anything about it. I loved it from the first ep, and continued to watch

But I watched almost two full seasons before I fell in love (hard!) with Giles. It happened when Angelus was torturing him in Becoming Pt. 2. Angelus said he could stop the pain if Giles told him how to do the ritual, and Giles whimpered, "Please," and then "In order to be worthy ... you must perform the ritual ..." I was so upset - I was sure Giles was about to break and tell Angelus what he needed to know, and I would hate that!!!! Then he spits out defiantly, " ... in a tutu. Pillock." And I just about cheered.

That's the moment I fell in love with Giles.

What about you?

I remember when I fell in love with Buffy. I was watching The Witch. I already thought this show was awesome and there was something super special about it... but right after I finished The Witch, I turned to my sister and I said "Wow." I fell in love with the show right there... It was the best

I watched parts of season 5 and season 6 before I watched the whole series and the moment I fell in love with Buffy was in the episode "After Life" when Spike sees Buffy is alive again. His face...her face, his emotions when he's outside talking to Xander, Spike and Buffy moment when he tells her "147 days".

That's when I fell in love. Especially with Spike and Buffy and I couldn't wait to find out more about their relationship, so I promptly started season one 🙂

I started from the very beginning too, and looking back, I'm pretty sure it was in "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date", when Buffy get mad at shouts, "You killed my date!" at that creepy vampire guy, and then proceeds to kick his ass. I don't know exactly what it is about that moment, but she was just adorable and fierce and I just kinda melted. I LOVE Buffy Summers. And then I think "Angel" is the episode where I really resolved to watch all of BtVS. It wasn't the moment where I fell in LOVE with BtVS exactly, but the end scene of it really hooked me, yeah. 😀

Hehe I feel like I've told this so many times but I love telling it.

Three years ago I was watching TNT in the morning for Charmed and I saw the ads for "a vampire with a soul" and I was like hmmm ok I'll check it out. It was 6 am and I was getting ready for school and I put on Angel and it was playing Birthday. I was like Hey she's from Charmed!! Lol and I got so excited. I fell in love with Cordelia and Angel! Which is why I love them so much <3

I had to leave before the ending I was so upset lol but two months later I got the complete set lol and like a month after that I started watching Buffy only because I wanted to see Cordy and Angel before they were on Angel.

My teacher let us watch OMWF in class, it was my first time watching Buffy. When Spike came on the screen...I fell in love.

And this is why I could never ship Bangel. 🙂 Or like Angel very much. There ya go.

Moment I feel in love with the show and Buffy as a character was:

Luke: Metal can't kill me
Buffy: Well you forgot about one thing
Luke: Whats that?
Buffy: Sunrise (buffy throws metal at window)
Luke: AAARRRRHGGGGGHHHHH...huh?
Buffy: Its not for another 9 hours moron

I remember that, I remember watching that part and cracking up laughing.
I barely made it through season one. My friend urged me to keep going, so I did. I think I really started to love the show during Lie to Me in season 2. The last 2 episodes of season two were really awesome (yes, even my Spuffy self thinks so).

I fell in love with Xander first. I never cared for BtVS because I could care less about vampires and slayers. And all things I saw, including Prophecy Girl, felt stupid and not worth my attention. I do remember that I thought Xander was the best looking guy among them all. When passing the room as my sister watched Buffy, if Xander was on, I'd stop and ogle his handsomeness and when he left the screen, I'd leave the room. I also remember laughing when Buffy declared that she was sixteen, because I thought she looked way older than sixteen.

Then my sister was watching Becoming Part 2, and I sat with her and watched. The moment I got a little interested in the show was when Xander lied to Buffy. My sister was so disappointed in him, but I was so intrigued. Then there was the guilty look later in the episode and I was hooked on Xander's character, because I thought he was not as goody-good as the rest of his friends.

I was interested in Xander but not so much the other characters. I'd catch an episode when I had nothing interesting to do, until I watched The Zeppo, and then I demanded my sister, who has always been a Spander fan, to find me a fic where Xander gets so hurt and abused basically Xander Angst. The first Spander fic I ever read was "Sands of Time" and the second was "The Stranger Things Series" and then I started reading Spander fics nonstop.

When S4 started airing in my country. I tuned in and watched with my sister. S4 got me hooked on the show as a whole and I started watching everything and not just Xander. Though I was so disappointed when I learned that Spander wasn't canon.

It was around 2000 and I was watching the anime DBZ one night. When it took a break I changed the channel to find something else to watch for a minute before DBZ returned. As I was flipping through the show I saw that Buffy was on. I knew about ir, but never watched it before so I thought i'd take a look. It was the eps Angel and it was the scene where Buffy get's grabbed by The Three and Angel shows up, grabs one of their heads, says "good dogs don't BITE!" then hits him. I was in awe of it all and a little freaked out when they chased Buffy and Angel to her house.

I ended up loving the show from that point on and have been a huge fan since. Though I did stop watching during season 5, cause I thought it went down till, but became a huge fan again in season 6 and have loved it ever since.

My aunt got me hooked on Buffy by having me watch OMWF. I love musicals and was blown away with how good the music was. I mean, I compare it Scrubs musical: It was funny, but the music wasn't that good. The actual musical of Buffy was really good. After that ep, I was sold on it: if just this one ep was amazing, the rest of the seires must have been amazing.

Even though my aunt told me not to, I watched ahead and in Tabula Rasa, when Giles kissed Anya, I was like, "Uhhh...he's pretty good looking." And fell hard for my man Giles!

And then after rewatching the series, and seeing Giles as a tweedy librarian, I fell even harder! I always go for the dork. And then seeing Jenny/Giles...I was instantly like, "OTP! DONE!"

That is my progression of my love for Buffy, Giles, and G/J! 😀

I always loved watching it when it was aired but I was very young so I wasn't into it to the point I was sad if I missed an episode. But when I totally fell in love with it was when Buffy jumped in the Gift. The scene was just so...I got the chills, and I started crying and I wanted too see what was next so bad! From that point, I was craving every week for a new episode!

I want to marry your banner in a private ceremony on Dingle beach.
I don't remember exactly when I fell in love with any particular character, but I remember *exactly* when I knew BtVS was my show. It was in The Pack and the hyena gang was walking in the sunlight and it was all slow motion and there was music... just that exact moment. I loved the show.

I know the EXACT scene! I really love it! I remember thinking, "Oh dang, Xander is kind of a badass...!" =P
I watched it from the beginning. But the moment that made me a huge fan was "Becoming". It affected me so hard, what with Angel's death and everything else. I got really emotional and realized how good this show was.

The first full episode I watched was "The Freshman". The moment I fell in love was in "Wild at Heart", when Oz tells Willow he has to leave.

OH I began loving it season 2 it took until I had the box set to see season 1. I fell hard and fast when I saw Spike, the look he gave Buffy when she dances in the Bronze was just pure lust. I used to watch on the BBC but some of the scenes were cut from season 6 due to the water shed here.
Spike for me still is my favorite character of all time and at times I have wished I was the Buffster.

When the opening credits came on in "Welcome to the Hellmouth," I thought, "Where has this show been all of my life?"

Dang! So, you watched it when the series first ran?
I don't remember exactly when I fell in love with any particular character, but I remember *exactly* when I knew BtVS was my show. It was in The Pack and the hyena gang was walking in the sunlight and it was all slow motion and there was music... just that exact moment. I loved the show.

I agree. The Pack was the first episode I ever watched, and almost immediately I knew I was hooked. I continued to watch through the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2. I too watched the show when it first aired, but missed the first 5 episodes.
The moment I knew I was in love with this show... When the WB pulled the 2 nighter!!! I remember Buffy having her 17th birthday party, them finding the judges arm and her losing her virginity on Monday. I skipped my 8th grade manditory Choir Concert the next night, Tuesday, to watch the aftermath and see what happened to Angel. Imagine my surprise... That 13 years later I'd still be watching this television show. 🙂

As far as favorite character, it changes all the time... I love them all. But Faith is pretty much my $**t!
