Do you think a comic is a better idea than another TV season?

Buffy did end on a good note, but like WA, i too pray for a Slayer-next generation tv show, and while its still possible(even in 10 years time), nothing else can compare. So, to answer the question, in no way is a comic a better idea than another TV series.

My bet is that buffyverse will return(prolly in movie form) in the future, with all the same characters? prolly not... several of the BuffyVerse actors already said they wanted to move on and leave their buffyverse typecast behind *cough* SMG *cough*

Yeah, I can see a new "Buffyverse" movie or even series somewhere in the future, but Sarah and David won't be involved. Eliza, maybe, James possibly, but almost exclusively a new cast is most likely.
TV for me. The comic is good, but it's a comic. It just doesn't hit the same 'ooh' spot you get from live action.

But, Dark Horse is getting my business, which says something. I've never bought comics before. I've never had the urge to read them. Just not my bag. But I'm into this, because, hi, I'm UnKle, and I'm a Buffy addict.

But if Joss could work the magic to pull the gang together for another live-action romp, I would so be there!

I would prefer a new TVseason. Why? Because I just hate comics. I'm probably one of the few people on the Boards that feel this way, but I just can't stand to read comics, not even Buffy ones. Right now all I do is read the recapses and hope that someday the comics get novelized.
Of course I understand that there are a lot of possibilites with comics you don't have with tv, but for me that doesn't realy make them worth reading for. I don't know what it is about comics, I just can't follow them.

I get you. I'm not into comics anymore either, and deeply grateful for the recaps & the Canon Watch threads.
after telling the mominator many times she has realized that buffy has continued and now she's gona read the comics after she's done watching the show again.... she cant understand why they couldnt just make another season, she says it would please everyone if they announced another season or several she hoped.

No doubt. But SMG wasn't on board for another season, and I get why. I don't think it was a decision she made quickly, or lightly. Buffy was a huge part of her life and was a character she loved. But all things have their time and purpose. I'm thinking I might break into a chorus of "Turn, Turn, Turn" now. :lmao:

I've read reports hither and thither that she would be definitely down with resurrecting Buffy (har - I'm punny) for a movie or somesuch, if the gang would all be there; and that if they were all in, Joss would scrap S8 if he had to, to get the movie idea in a ready place for the writing and pre-pro. I need to remember where I saw that... hmm. I think it was via a Dollhouse site's news section. I'll poke around and see if I can re-find it.

coolies, i think it'd be a shame for season 8 to be just thrown away though, but it probably would be as the amount of people not reading it heavily outweighs those of us reading it. why do they insist on making films for the dumb johnny popcorn cinema goer?

oh yeah... its all about the MONEY!

idealy all of us would prefer a tv show but all the factors are gainst it here. the actors and writers are all busy with other projects and have aged
i tink the comic book form was a good way of keeping the magik lve for us s an audience and i also think that an animated movie or tv show would b a good dea but im not sure the actors would all agree to doing the voice over du to how much time it would take up and how busy the scheduals are
A spin off would also b cool, Ripper would b easy as they would need a completely new actor and could use someone up and coming o play young Giles...any idea on who that could b?? maybe a spin off following another slayer or even a set of vampires much like the comic book stories 'tales of the vampires' anyway these r just my thoughts and ideas. who knows what the wirters and prducers are thinking about doing

I would prefer a tv season but we know that's not possible so i'm happy with the comics. At least we can know that happens after "Chosen" and "Not fade way".

well since Buffy is having great sales I doubt it will be ending anytime soon and I dont mind. It has been in the top 10 comics since it debuted which is great.

A tv show would be great but I will take my Buffy anyway I can.

I think comics are not nearly as good or involving as a TV series. But I like the comics OK, and they allow the writers to do stories that would never be possible on a TV budget.

However, I really think there should be an animated series for season 8. With good animation. (I'm thinking like Gargoyles or even better. Gargoyles is a beautifully animated show.) This would allow for any storyline without worrying about budget, and they could probably work recording the voices around the schedules of the stars, so we could get the voice actors we know and love. I really don't understand why no one is pursuing this, I think it would be a success.
