In season 3, Angel tried to convert Faith back to good. Do you think had Wesley and the Council not interfered, could Faith had turned good again?

I highly doubt it. I think Faith needed to hit bottom and make the decision to try and become a better person herself before anyone could have really helped her. In s3 her whole teaming up with the bad guys was pretty new and exciting to her; most of the gang put some effort into talking to her and trying to get her head down a different path and it made no difference.

Plus, part of the reason Angel was able to help her later on is because they could relate to one another; both had become murders, both wanted redemption, both hurt those around them they considered friends....

I agree with brinkster130...kind of. I think Angel would have been able to help her had the Council not interfered when they did. In terms of story and for both AtS and BtVS it made for a much better story that they pushed her that much further so she had to really work at her redemption once she realised she wanted it.

I think she could have. Despite everything that happened to her, I genuinely don't think that Faith is a bad person. I think she has/had some major demons she needs to work out and that coupled with superpowers is obviously a terrible mix. However, Angel seemed to be winning her over before Wesley barged in. That being said though, like others have mentioned, she hadn't totally hit rock bottom yet.

I really do think that towards the end of S1, she wouldn't have found her way back without Angel. He completely saved her. Without him, Buffy would have beat the hell out of her again and probably killed her. Angel knew that was almost what Faith wanted, and he saved her.

Like what everyone else is saying, Faith needed to hit bottom and she needed to want to change herself before she could let someone else help her.

I highly doubt it. Faith didn't WANT to be helped at that point. As far as that goes, he didn't do all that much toward "converting" her in Season 1 of his own show beyond letting her take her frustrations out on him in a dark alley without fighting back. If Faith hadn't have felt genuine regret for what she had done and desire to somehow atone for it, nothing that he did or said would have made any difference whatsoever. He could, and did, give her some support once she made the decision, but the decision itself was hers, totally.

He could barely even tell her how to work the microwave so she could pop her popcorn.

I don't know... If Faith was going to listen to anyone, I think it would have been Angel. However, I agree with everyone else who said Faith had a long way to go before she was ready for redemption. I don't think she was ready to be saved at that point.

I agree with the others. She was not in a place to be helped at that point. She needed to go through everything she would go through later on in the show & in Angel before she could truly be on her road to redemption.

Not at that point, she was too unstable. It would have taken a long time and I don't think she was necessarily in the right place to commit to it.

She may have listened to him for a bit though, but I still think she'd have gone over to the dark side anyway.
