Do you think Buffy ever had an STD?

I must say I haven't read the comics but I'm nearly certain I haven't heard any off the wall mentioning of this. I do know it was mentioned in the television series that Darla had syphilis, or something.. Anyways.. Ill just get to the question..

Does anyone think Buffy would have picked up any STDs from Angel or Spike? Not saying that her one night stand or her time with Riley she couldn't have picked up anything.

I would think that since she and Riley were in a long and mature relationship that the two would have been tested at some point before, during, or after. However, I find it hard to believe that Angel may not have given her anything since their hook-up was spontaneous.

Speaking of Spontaneous, it seems that just about every hook up with Spike was in the heat of the moment. Not all of them, but many of them.

I know the question is somewhat strange. It could tie in with Darla's STDs. Buffy's death? Who knows

Lol sorry, I do take your question seriously (and I have no idea what the answer is) but the title made me laugh out loud. So these are the questions we've come to? Lol. But I really don't mean to be mean. It's just funny is all. I've never thought about this!

There was something in Angel (the series) about Darla's syphilis returning when she was brought back to life. Although Angel tried to keep Drusilla from turning her back into a vampire, it appears that once she reverted to being a vampire, there was no more concern. But it is an interesting question - even if a vampire is not affected, there is no guarantee that whatever the vampire touches is not affected.

A virus needs a living organism to replicate and spread. So neither Angel nor Spike could have transmitted an infection.

So I'm going to say no she has not, at least not from these two.

But catching a virus from a vampire doesn't seem likely imo.

I knew it affected Darla when she became human again, so I'm thinking she carried it, but it just couldn't affect her until later. So I was thinking Buffy could have picked it up from either of the Vamps who were just carrying it.

I would think Parker would have given it to her as well. Buffy didn't seem like the "I've got my stakes, holy water, and condoms... check."-kinda girl, lol.

The topic is too random and not based enough in fact. Buffy doesn't have an STD, the show would have addressed it.

If the question is whether a Vampire can carry an STD I wouldn't think so, they aren't alive so the STD isn't alive while they are dead, so I would presume it can't be passed. So Darla couldn't have passed it to Angel.

I would think Parker would have given it to her as well. Buffy didn't seem like the "I've got my stakes, holy water, and condoms... check."-kinda girl, lol.

Buffy seems exactly like that kinda girl.
Parker also seemed like that kinda guy, he might have liked one night stands, but he doesn't seem like the type to be dumb enough to have the option of getting a load of girls pregnant.

If you are thinking of syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and other germs, they cannot survive without a living host. If you are thinking of herpes or AIDS, that is a different story. In fact, viruses are very much like vampires in that they are not alive but just "undead". This could be an interesting topic with undead beings carrying undead viruses.

But any virus needs a living host to replicate. I'm not sure any virus could be transmitted from a dead person. Those same virus cannot be transmitted from an surface like a toilet, I almost view vamps as objects in this case. Heck, I'm not sure how vampires bodily fluid are suppose to work without a heart beat (but we've been over that before, their anatomy doesn't make sense). Vampires might be special in that aspect and might be able to carry viruses, but this would go against what science is saying.

Also, did a quick google search, HIV usually doesn't live in a dead person's body for more than a week before it dies

Joss has been sufficiently clear about the dangers of sex without having to resort sexually transmitted diseases. Syphilis, gonorrhea and AIDS, pale in comparison to the apocalyptic scenarios after-sex described by Joss. LOL.

Can Buffy even pick STDs? I mean, she's not a human. Yeah, yeah, she got ill once, I know - but still. Buff is incredibly strong, fast and tough and heals ridiculously fast. HIV? Syphilis? Her organism probably just laughs all this crap out of her body, I say.
