Do you think Spike would have killed Buffy?

In "Fool for Love", Buffy pushes Spike and he falls backwards, throws the money at him and tells him, "You're beneath me". He almost cries and then gets really angry, he wants to kill Buffy, even though it'll hurt him. But he'd do it anyway. He is completely into it, and it seems he won't back out this time.

But then he goes into Buffy's backyard, a rifle in his hands, and he sees Buffy crying. He melts a little. Asks her what's wrong and if he could help with anything. He puts down the rifle, drops the idea of killing her.

But what if Buffy hadn't cried? What if she was inside the house, he'd get in, with the same agenda and anger in his heart? Would he go through with it and kill her (or at least try, because my point isn't if she would win or him)?

Well this is the scenario I imagine: he points the gun at Buffy and while he is in pain because of the chip, he is fighting with himself and realize he just can't do that because he loves Buffy so much, so he just runs away and that is it 😀

No. I don't think he would have. I knew my first watch that he wouldn't... even if she wasn't crying. He's pick up that gun, aim at her, and then he wouldn't be able to pull the trigger.

No way. If he had aimed that shotgun at her, she would have just looked at him square in the eyes with that annoyed-Buffy look on her face, and he would fall in love all over again, because that's just what he does when it comes to Buffy. Yep. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 🙂

Yeah he didn't have it in him no matter how serious he thought he was gonna be about it....thinking about it and actually doing it is a totally different thing to do.

Nope. 🙂 The whole "I'm gonna kill her" bit was what he told himself, to feel better about the fact that he knew deep down that he was going to her house just to be close to her--to see her. The gun made for an extra-convincing prop. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even loaded.

I agree with everyone. Even if Buffy had not been crying, he wouldn't have killed her. Gum Gnome said it best. It was probably not even loaded, lol.
