Do you think that Willow went too far?

I think that Willow was perfectly justified in killing Warren. I think alot of people would feel like killing the person who killed someone they loved. In fact, I don't think she got enough TIME to punish him. I agree with D'Hoffran- go for the pain, not for the kill. It lasts longer.

Anyhow, that is beside the point. Warren deserved it, and he would never have recieved appropriate punnishment in prison. What Willow did was more personal- it drove home the point that he hurt people-much more than rotting in some maximum security cell would have. Warren had some mental problems- I think that he may have been somewhat sociopathic. First, the megalomania, second, the lack of remorse or human feeling for anyone but himself. I don't think he would have realized the gravity of what he had done unless Willow had come along and made him feel it physically.

It's scary how many people think Warren actually deserved to be tortured and murdered. Hey I'm no fan of him, but, I don't believe in punishing people either, and I definitely don't believe in revenge.... I love Willow as a character and this storyline is great etc., but that doesn't mean she didn't go to far..

I just finished rewatching Season 6 two days ago. I'm of the opinion that (and I'm placing myself in Willow's position here) that Warren TOTALLY deserved to be tortured, flayed and BBQ'd!

However... I have a fiery temper and I too tend to go way off the deep end when I'm in a fight or flight situation - after the dust has settled and all is calm, I reflect on my behaviour and sometimes (ie when I was in the wrong) I have to go and do some MAJOR damage control!!! Obviously I've never murdered anyone (LOL), but I can completely empathise with Willlow's situation; her pain, grief and loss. That doesn't make what she did right though. Thats where conscience comes into play. And guilt. I've often felt soooo angry that I wanted to cause someone serious physical harm, but the fear of punishment and my own sense of right and wrong has stopped me. If I were in a position where I could command all the Dark Forces at my will, I would probably do exactly what Willow had done. And then afterwards, I would have had to face the consquences of my terrible actions.

I totally agree with everyone who has posted that Willow did seem to "get away with" murdering Warren, but there have been countless times when charcters in Buffyverse have committed a heinious act and have "gotten away with it". As long as we as viewers can see and understand the magnitude of Warren's murder (even though he was an evil mysoginistic *beep*) then the lesson from the episode is still there - its just more convenient that Willow isn't punished - it would have made Season 7 rubbish with no Willow.

Warren...Willow did right. Good for her. I'm only sorry that it was so quick. She should have done it slower...now taking out the whole world...that might not have been the best laid plan but hey, unimaginable mental and emotional suffering...I give her a pass on that one...besides, she's so cute and adorable.

Well of course Evil Jesus agrees to a slow painful flaying 😛 Warren deserved punishment for sure, but yeah flaying people alive in revenge can never lead to good things.. well at least I hope it can't. Having said that I fully enjoyed the Evil Willow arc. 😀

Willow had no right to kill warren. it isn't her place to decide who lives and who dies. however, i can certainly understand her wanting to do it. if i had access to that kind of power after a loved one had been killed, i might consider the same thing. I'd like to think i wouldn't go through with it, but you don't know until your in that situation.

Using the magic addiction is like alcoholism comparison, upon the death of Tara, her jumping into deep quick-paced use of magic, was the equivalent of getting rip-roaring drunk. She was so far off the wagon, that its entirely possible that the results ended up they did.

Then she went and sucked down the deep-dark magics, which have no real comparison, so I imagine that'd be a big effect on her.
