I am kind of getting to hate this "multi cover" thing Dark Horse is doing. I used to collect comics back in the 80's & early 90's. They used to do one every now & then with a different cover. Like say the 1st or 25th or 50th issue. Now it's EVERYONE they do has 2 or 3 covers. It's like to many hands in the cookie jar. They used to do maybe say a "gold foil" cover where it was the same but had gold lettering on it or something. Now it just seems like they are using it to jack up sales & make more money. Some places on the net make u by 4 copies just to make sure u get the 2 or 3 different ones. You can't just order the ones you want.

I don't know if this is typical for all Dark Horse titles? Really kinda doubt it. They're just milking it cos they know there's a ravenous fan base. What percentage of casual, newbie comics readers aren't going to prefer the Jo Chen covers?

i think goldenboy might be right...Dark Horse are trying to cash in on the BTVS fanbase. they know that there are fans out there who will want to have every single varient cover, so they buy four issues and get the varient. thing is, they seem to be going overboard with it, by having every issue with three covers. i think they just want the money...and really, it's starting to get to me a bit.
i don't collect the varient covers, Jo Chen's are so beautiful i really want to collect all of them. but now it turns out that for issue #5, Jo Chen's cover is going to be the varient, so i might have to buy four copies of that issue, just to make sure i get the one i want.
i think it sucks, and i really hope that the novelty will wear off once the Faith arc hits the shelves.

That's what I'm talking about. I hate the different covers thing.

No, you actually have to buy only 2 copies of #5 to make sure you get the Jo Chen cover. In fact it has been like this for issues 2-4 aswell. I know a person who ordered #2 and received the variant cover instead of the Jo Chen cover. So far my first 2 issues have been both regular. #3should arrive any day now.

With the exception of the "Death of Superman" series, I haven't read any comic books since the X-men only had four members and Spiderman was dating Gwen Stacy, so I can not be in any way considered a collector or even really a fan. I read Buffy, and I'll try to read the "Angel Season 6" if it ever comes along, but I'm strictly a reader of the story. They could use plain brown paper for the covers, and I wouldn't care.

I don't really mind how many covers they make, as long as I can get the one I like best. Which so far have been the first printing covers by Jo Chen; her work is really amazing!

I was worried about these multiple covers at first, but now I have found a comic shop that always has the new issues on the shelf the day that they are released. It doesn't bother me about the multiple covers, since they have all of the covers on the shelf. I can always get the one I want (which is the Jo Chen covers).

Maybe I wouldn't mind as much if I was near a comic store, but yep it's annoying for a poor Buffy fan. I want them all, but just can't have them unless I stop eating 😛

I voted yes, purelly because I wanted jo chens #3 cover (I have#1 and #2 and they look awesome!) but the comic shop only had the jigsaw cover which I hated. it wasn't that it was bad its just the jo chen willow cover looked so damn good. so origionally i didnt care because i planned on only getting jo chen covers, but now i'm annoyed as they're making it harder to do so! (sorry for a rant that is not very productive to the arguement lol)
