One of the Australian Ministers said that the folk in the China region under threat of the Corona virus will be flown to the purpose built hospital facility on Christmas Island.
Facts.
For those people who choose to leave China they'll have to pay $1000 each for the flight,
to go a facility that was built as a prison not a hospital.
The capital city (Perth) is 3000 miles away.

Hope the sea levels don't rise to much.

I'm still laughing at the title of this thread. Do I trust the UK Government to tell me the truth...hmm...let me mull it over...no.

On the topic of Corona Virus, they're putting UK citizens in quarantine on The Wirral. Folk on Twitter have decided it's either a Tory conspiracy because Liverpool voted Labour ("so this is what Johnson meant when he said he'd infest in the North") or it's a ploy to stop Liverpool FC winning the Premier League. https://twitter.com/hashtag/wirral?lang=en

Tribel,
did you really have to mulled it over if you trusted the politicians, it is a good thing you didn't go on about my question or your answer might have become a mulled wine.

It is amazing that the Corona virus has folk worried by it because Corona is such a weak lager, now if it had been a Guinness Stout Virus.

To be fair...I did say UK Government not "all politicians". I didn't trust the present lot during the election campaign. Let's see how they do other than "getting Brexit done" and selling celebratory tea-towels.
Nope, wouldn't trust them to tell me the time.

I think some of them, when they start out, have every intention of doing the right thing, but once they get on the gravy train, collecting their pay cheques and seeing what perks they can grab, their ideals go out the window and they lose all empathy with the populace.

I mulled it over for the length of time it took me to type ... 🙂 but I can always whine.

If you're old enough, this is Corona in the UK.

Depending on who you believe the Government have either responded slowly or fast to the situation. The answer to the topic question is there are less and less politicians you can trust. But there are still good ones out there. I think people have to take responsibility for voting for politicians based on personality or catch phrases instead of their policies, background etc...

It definitely feels like nobody's sharing the entire picture in regards to the coronovirus 🙁 I don't understand why countries are taking back people who could be infected.

@Mr Trick beat me to it. I absolutely hate the "all politicians are the same" rubbish. No they're not. This lazy attitude is what lets things get progressively worse as no one is ever held accountable, not even in the minds of constituents let alone actually having to face consequences.

To give Governments their due (which I'm loath to) I think they're probably damned if they do and damned if they don't. Press from the opposite side of the spectrum would crucify them which ever decision they took.

One the subject of "Do you trust politicians to tell the truth?" perhaps Johnson can get the Chinese to build the 40 new hospitals he promised the UK? They'd be complete by the end of November - we wouldn't have to wait until the 12th of Never.

That would be nice

Ha ha, 40 new hospitals in 10 months, what for? If the virus is still ongoing how many beds will be needed?
Credit to the China for being so open about this too. They are in a very difficult position. Maybe the most difficult of all.

And yes the press haven't really helped.
