Doctor Who Discussion! -spoilers-

The BBC's already announced that it'll return in the spring...probably around that time frame for CBC in Canada,and probably summer/fall for SciFi.

New seasons have debuted on or around Easter for the last three.

BTW season two of Torchwood (Doctor Who spin-off featuring Captain Jack) starts on 16th January on the BBC. This season starts off with an appearance from the Buffyverse's very own James Marsters in ep one and also features Martha Jones from Doctor Who in later eps...and (I suspect) is likely to crossover with the next season of Who a little more than it did last season (but I could be wrong). Oh, and there is also a "family friendly" edit of Torchwood to be broadcast this time, in case our younger members are interested.

It should be noted that BBC America will have season 2 of Torchwood about 2 weeks after the BBC does. As far as Marsters goes,he may be in more eps than this one...and his character is a bit along Spike's lines(BEFORE he got the chip in him)-he's playing a time-traveling killer,if memory serves.

I've only ever watched a few episodes of Dr Who. I can never seem to get into it. I watched the season finale which I thought was really good. I love John Simm. He was great in this. And I loved that Captain Jack was in it. I watched the Christmas Special as well. It was enjoyable, in a kind of sad way. It did have a very Poseidon-ness feel to it.

As a non Dr Who fan I actually liked Martha. I didn't watch that many episodes with Rose in it so I can really compare. I don't think I'll like his new assistant though. They just seem wrongly matched. She was fun in last years Christmas Special but it might get a bit much for a whole season.
