I know quite a few people on here watch Dr Who and I was wondering, which one of his assistants do you prefer? Sarah-Jane Smith, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones or Donna Noble?

I love Rose, though her appearance in the latest episode left a lot to be desired.

I really didn't like Donna in The Runaway Bride, and I was dreading her being the assistant for the fourth series, but she really changed my mind and now I love her.

I like Martha so-so, but I don't really think Freema's acting is brilliant.

I like them all. I like bits of all of them the best depending on the situation.

My opinion - I think this Freema's a bad actress thing is nonsense. When she first arrived she was getting raves, then the scripts got chaotic and they seemed to lose their fix on what the character of Martha Jones was all about. All of a sudden Freema is a bad actress. I wonder about something else. Were Rose fans maybe getting peeved at Martha for trying to move in on what they saw as Rose's turf, so they took it out on Freema?

Also...I keep pulling for the return of Romana. They're crossing dimensions in and out of alternate realities now so she's fair game if you ask me.

My personal favorite all round companion of all time though - K 9

Actually, to be honest, I thought Freema was pretty good in series three. But her acting in series four so far hasn't been great - especially in the episode The Doctor's Daughter. The part when she was crawling out of the slime pit after the fish alien died - I thought that was terrible.

I know Jack wasn't a proper companion, but I loved him - not so much in Torchwood, though.

On another note - since watching Firefly, the word companion has taken on a new meaning!

Well, it looks like in the next ep (The Stolen Earth) we'll get the chance to compare them all as, judging by the trailers, it's Companion Fest 2008. Bad things are approaching, I tells ye...

I'm one very excited ol' Pointy 🙂
