Does an av matter to you?

I totally put a person and there av together, its like say I look up to allycats and I think hes blonde or sth... then say I look at ana8's and I think that shes a bit dark and lurkes or whatever...
I always do that, thats why I cannot keep the same av for more than a month because I wantg to not make people have a opinion on who I really am and get them all confuzzed and I have no Idea wat i am saying no more...
 
I don't base personality on avatars, but I learn to associate people with their avatars....like myself for instance, I just picked a faith avatar because faith was one of my favorite characters and I had just finished watching an eliza dusku(sp) movie before hand....so Faith was on my mind and i never got around to changing it....
 
I always assume that someone is the same sex as their avatar, even though that is often not the case. People often choose avatars that look good to them, including pictures of the opposite sex, like AshSan said. As for making assumptions about personality, I try not to, but in some cases, like Rayne, you can just tell from the avatar.
 
Or they choose it because they like that person (like ana8 is obsessed with David and her av is angel) or it's what ship they are..(like magui is a bangel shipper and her av is buffy and angel from The Prom)

Just tell what? Jeez...a girl sees a cute pic from a comic she likes and everyone starts assuming she's a freak...no one cares about the bodies buiried in the back yard or the jars of organs in the fridge but you get a creepy AV and everybody's talkin'...😛

Seriously...is it that disturbing? ???

But thats her job. Well if you think that of her, I dread to think what impression I give, as thats a large part of what I do. Not because I enjoy it, but because it has to be done.
 
Dont worry faith, I look up to people who tell other people off and stuff, it shows you have confidence 😀
 
Lol, Rayne. That av give off the impression that you're insane or a serial killer, no offense. But it's funny, just like you. But not in a bad way...

You have Glenn Quinn, he looks like the wise guy, who you really listen to. But that girl jules picked looks like the strict teacher who you (actually me) like to push to the borders, just to see how far you can go. While Doyle just demands respect!
 
Allycat - The girl Jules has in her av is actually Jennifer Garner from Alias.

I pick my avs more often than not just because I like the pic. The one I have at present I like because CC looks so happy on it and I wanted a light-hearted looking av. 🙂
 
I don't know Allycat,I think Jules' av shows that she likes Jennifer Garner!!I'm not getting it obviously........I chose mine randomly if that helps anyone keeping a file on me!!

Well I picked my Av because it was appealing to me, the colours etc., the expression on SMGs face, the way her hair is. So I suppose that it does present some small glimmer of my personality.
 
Avatars definitely have an effect on how I view users. Rayne, I love your av...it rocks harder than a punk ninja in a mosh pit.

As for my own, well...I am bald, but I'm not really the quiet, metal-teethed, heart-collecting type. But I do float around town at night, menacing hapless mousy wiccans. 😉

I think avatars and the posts people make combine to create an image of a person in my head. I see Mr. Pointy as a sort of an amicable, wise monster with a jovial British accent. 🙂

To wander off into tangent land (my favorite vacation spot...thinking of buying a condo here): Having seen some of your actual pictures, it's freaky how much some people really do look like thier avs. GrrArg and jules in particular tripped me out with how much the pictures they posted looked like their avatars.

Yeah I get the name now, but I don't watch Alias. Isn't she also that girl from Daredevil, cause she doesn't look one bit like that!
 
Yeah, it is the same person out of Daredevil.....she plays Elecktra.

Oh....and thanks Lazy Dolphin...I myself don't see the resemblance...but thanks 😀
