Does an av matter to you?

On another message board that I visit regularly someone opened a thread "psychological profiles according to avatar pics".

I wrote some profiles as well and the funny thing was that people afterwards changed their avatars because they thought I was giving away too much of their privacy *LOL*

I might add that I didn't know any of them personally.

I've noticed, however, that avatars and also user names do make a difference. I used to have a very nice avatar, nice girl, long dark hair, very pretty and everybody appreciated my postings. Than I changed it to another one: a very thouh, arrogant looking woman and suddenly people started accusing me of being arrogant. I found that very... strange.
 
That IS very interesting...I was interpreting dreams...you should interpret Avatars...seems like a cool idea...but then again, what the hell do I know...
 
The funny thing is that I just copied the styles of those psydo-psychoanalysts from TV-shows. It was never intended to be a real analysis - just some fun. I just took the features of the avatar and interpreted it completely out of the blue. That it actually applied was really strange. *lol*

At least for those who saw it for what it was: just a bit of fun it really was great fun. (No pun intended). For the others it seemed to be... well... unfortunate. (Reading it again it sounded a bit horrible just now, so I might add that there was/is a rule that only avatars of those asking for it were analysed - not to offend anybody.)
 
Well of course it's all in good fun! That was the same thing with the dreams...it's impossible to ever know for sure...you don't really KNOW most of these people so it's got to be taken lightly. Just like all of these silly quizes we post...all in good humor and fun...if you don't want to that's fine...could be kina funny though...just tell people in the begining it's all in good fun and if they can't take a joke not to read...sorry, I'm not pushing, I just think that sounded interesting the way you explained it. 🙂
 
When i picked my Av i just found my fav pic of xander, the character i identify most with. I wouldnt say I'm like him, but i can relate to him.

Plus he is so damn funny!!!
 
Maybe I judge people by their avatars... For instance, when Rocket had that Faith avatar, I thought he was bold and outgoing. Now my view of him is that he's shy and innocent. Or maybe I'm too judgemental, lol.
