Does anyone else hate Fred?

Lorne definitely liked the ladies. There's another example in Pylea where he gets his head chopped off and when Cordy told one of her cow slaves to take her clothes off, Lorne opens his eye to perv. LOL.

I liked Fred a lot. She had her moments where she got on my nerves, especially a lot in early Season 3 when she was still "crazy Fred who drew on the walls", but I didn't hate her or anything.

I was hesitant to open this thread. I'm not gonna start the "Fred is the best character ever" speech right now, so I will not say anything. I guess your hatred for Fred is probably on the same level as my hatred for Cordy and Dawn. Hmm.

I was going to stay out of this thread as well, because I really like Fred. I think she's sweet, cute and funny. Not to mention incredibly smart. Easily the smartest character on the show. I liked that she had a childlike quality to her. I always thought she balanced out the Angel team perfectly.

The only reason I would have to dislike her is my jealously over Wesley being in love with her and not me 😉 hehe

I know a lot of people like her, I already know all the imo lame reasons why they like her, I was looking to see other reasons why people DONT like her. Because I know their are others, sadly we are in the minority, but I'm not alone.

I agree she is totally over rated. Maybe if people didn't go on and on about how she is the best character when she clearly isnt, she wouldn't be so over rated. Or the fact that they dragged her stupid death out over three episodes when Cordy only got one, and in my opinion Fred only deserved one if that I mean she was still on the damn show. Or the fact that shes just an annoying lame character. For me their are so many reasons to hate Fred.

Hate Fred? Not particularly. Much like Kean, one could take her or leave her as a character.

I did find her quite attractive, though.

Absolute hate I reserve for the characters of Gunn and Cordelia.

Yep, and let's not forget that he came from a world where the "females" were just as masculine as the "males". So Effeminate is a good way to put it. He was clearly not meant for that world.

I wouldn't say that i hate her but i don't particularly like her either. I found her to be very annoying and i was just constantly wishing she would leave the show but she still showed up episode after episode....

Lol, I don't hate her, but she's definitely not my favorite. I thought I'm a minority when I say I like Illyria more than Fred. ^_^ I adore Amy Acker, though. She's one hell of an actress. If you've watched Dollhouse, I'll say Claire >>>>> Fred.

You have a good point about her being older than she acts. I always thought of her as 24-years-old woman. But she's not useless, though. Physics is different kind of researching. Maybe Wes is not as good as Fred when it comes to maths. 🙂

She is one of my favorite characters! She is pretty much just like Willow before she got all wiccan on us. With the babbling away and the super smart talk...it's kinda sexy if you ask me, but then again I'm drawn towards nerds.

I like Fred, but I could understand why people wouldn't like her because in some episodes she alittle annoying. Also, she's not one of my favorite characters but I thought her pylea story was interesting and I liked how she was nice. However, I would have prefered Cordelia to be the only female in season 5 of Angel than Fred if I had to choose, but I love Amy Acker and an amazing actress.

P.S. Amy's better as Claire Saunders in Dollhouse and she's quite good as Rachel Conroy in Happytown, incase some of you haven't seen both shows.

I've only seen Fred in Angel season 5 (I'm part way through season 2 now. And yes I know I'm stupid for watching it out of order 😛) so I'm not going to judge until I watch the rest, but in that season she sort of annoyed me and I decided I like Illyria a lot better. But who knows? Maybe once I've finished the whole series, my opinion will change and I will loathe Illyria with a passion.

Fred annoyed me a lot. Partially because she knew Gunn and Wes were constantly fighting over her and she lead them BOTH on. It frustrated me... she was playing them... but she acted all innocent like she had no idea... but it's impossible she didn't know. Also, I understand after being pulled out of Pylea she'd be a bit distant... but she never seemed to get better and adjust to the world.

Fred is an awesome character. Sure she was annoying here and there(mostly when she ranted about things that made no sense), but overall she brought this little something to Angel's team. I never really liked Gunn + Fred, but Fresley... awesome ship! Freaking Joss and his love of breaking couples when it's going well...

Fresley is forever love.
