Does anyone else hate Fred?

I've just watched Fredless specifically because I wanna know if I hate or love her. And the result is, I think she's kinda...nice. 🙂 I take back all the bad things I've ever said about her in this thread. 😛

Katie stop hating on Fred lol I mean I think hating Fred is almost the same as hating Willow , how can you hate her honestly? There's nothing about her that screams "instant loathing" you're just infatuated with the fact that you hate her and that's it hehe she might annoy you, but hate is a strong word don't you think? 😉 Hope you still love me ^^

Lmao of course I still love you but I do HATE Fred don't know who you've been talking to but I do. Yes she's annoying, and yes at first when I watched it wasn't hate, but over time it has grown to hate. She has "instantly annoying" tattooed on her forehead. I've already listed my other reasons why I hate her thought missy 😛
 
Kate, get over it already. Fred is a wonderul, cheery, uber fun, and just overall awesome character. How can anyone not love her to pieces? She's fantastic! She must be the warmest person to ever grace the Angelverse! I just love my Fredikins 😉

I will repeat myself if necessary. Fred is annoying, useless, waste of space. The show would have been better had she never been written in. 😛

At first. In s4, it got way to childish for me. Gunn treated her like a childish girl, rather than a woman. "Want some hot cocoa?" No, Gunn! She wants a beer, lol!

And sorry, Katie. I really like Fresley 🙂

Fred acts like a childish girl, not a woman, so it's not all that surprising Gunn would treat her the way she acts. She acts like a little girl, one of the reasons I hate her.

They weren't cheesy they were childish. Gunn was young alot younger then Fred, but he is a lot more mature then her. So of course together its going to be a young relationship.

Part of how she acts is because she's getting use to the world again. She's excited, like a giggy, young girl, which I really like about her in s3. As she matures, she doesn't want to be treated like a child anymore, nor the damsel in distress. She wants to handle her own battles, which is why she gets angry at Gunn for killing her professor. He still sees her as this young girl who needed protection, and she didn't want that anymore.

Oh my god, thank you Britt! Perfect description of how I see Fred in the show. She grew over time, and as I've argued countless times with Katie and B, if Gunn actually let her do what she wanted to do with the Professor, it would have made her go through more maturing. By 'protecting' her, he was just trying to keep her as innocent and childish as she had been in the past. I disagree with Gunn, even though I understand why 'HE' would do that. It was not his choice.

Agreed. I understand Gunn too and why he choose to do what he did, but that's not what Fred wanted. Maybe he felt like he needed to after his sister, but I think he should have recognized Fred's strength. I mean, she did survive living in another dimension for 5 years.
 
I don't hate Fred, but to be honest, I've never understood why people love her so much. It seems like she's a real fan favourite.
