Does absolutely EVERYTHING have to go wrong!!!

I can't stand it when Buffy and the Scoobies are having a good time, and then... BAM! Some friggin demon comes to kill everyone. (one big exception is The Prom, btw, Everything does actually go as planned!) I realize that's what the whole show is all about, but seriously? Maybe that's why I liked S6 more than S123. Because not EVERYTHINg had to do with monsters. It's okay for the most part, but there's always that one time when you're like... "COME ON!!!"
Also, EVERYONE dies! I mean, did Anya HAVE do die? (One exception is Tara, she was a necessary death). Well, anyway, what are your thoughts?

Well if the show had been about the one girl in all the world where everything with smoothly for and they all lived happily ever after it would have been a bit of a let down.

Well as you saidm it's the nature of the show. They live in such a precarious world. If you think about it, most Slayers live tragic lives, they're lonely, then they die. Buffy was actually one of the luckier ones. She's not alone and she's still alive.

Don't get me wrong, there's no other show better than Buffy, but sometimes it just seems like too much. You understand?

If I turned on my TV to watch a group of friends just hanging out I would assume that I was watching Friends and then change the channel. The monsters are what makes the show, and if I'm to be brutally honest, I actually liked it when there was a monster of the week in the earlier seasons.

Have to agree, it was all the terrible things that happened that made the show great instead of sunshine and lollypops all the time

Well this is the life on the hellmouth- all the time something happens. This is what the show is about.
But as BotD said-most often it comes back to norm:biggrin:
For example in the end of "Family" there is Tara's birthday party and everyone is having fun, they go to the party after Buffy killed The Master in "Prophecy girl" etc.

I don't think you guys are getting what I'm saying. I just wish there was that one episode that doesn't have any demons. For example, I think the Hell Hounds (is that the right name?) was just a lame excuse to put some demon in that episode. That epy would've been just as great without any demons.

So you want an episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer where Buffy just lounges around at home, maybe has a bath with bubbles, watches some TV, eats some Ben and Jerry's and has a slumber party - eh.

Sounds rivetting - I think I'll stick with it as is.

Omg... Are you guys trying to be arrogant fanboys..? I'm just saying, don't you ever feel bad for Buffy? Don't you want something to go right for once?

I just think it's a hard concept for people to grasp, not having monsters that is. I mean the whole beauty of the show is that there ARE these terrible things lurking in the world, Buffy deals with them, often alone, sometimes with the Scoobies, and for the most part the rest of the world is unaware. If they didn't show us the monsters, we'd be as unaware as the rest of the people walking around in Sunnydale. And I love how she fights the monsters, but then goes on like a normal teenage girl...going to the prom, having a party for a friends' b-day....

The first few seasons were much more 'monster of the week' than the later seasons, but her whole role as Slayer is to slay the vampires and monsters. If there weren't as many, we'd be in here saying 'boy, Buffy isn't really what I thought it would be...'

JEEZ!!! I don't want Buffy to have NO monsters at all, but just for one or two episodes. There is just sometimes where I kinda feel truly like... sad for Buffy. Can she not just go Patrolling, then... idk, not fight more demons.

But just like I said earlier, the whole show would absolutely SUCK if this happened continually, but that's not what I'm saying at all. 🙂
