Does anyone else think Joss just nails timing?

In his shows I mean. Think about some of the storylines throughout Buffy, Angel and his other shows. When Angel returns in S3 and Buffy hides him, I felt like they had Xander and the Scoobies discover that Angel was still alive at the perfect time, before the arc got stale.

Or take in Angel S5, when Spike returns to Wolfram & Hart as a ghost. I never felt like that arc dragged at all, but at the same time I felt like it ended at the exact right time. I don't know, it just feels like Joss has a real knack for knowing exactly how to time his stories.

Well he definitely has a gift for writing, but as far as timing goes, I think that credit goes to the actors. As an actor, they have to know exactly how and when to deliver a line or a facial expression that conveys the emotion of the scene perfectly.

I don't think he was talking about the actor's timing, but the timing of certain plot points in the series [although an actor is definitely part of that].

Ahh, my bad. I admit I didn't read all the original post. LOL

Yeah, he definitely knows when the right time is to reveal the big plot twists. 🙂

Yeah I always liked that about the shows Joss has written. You don't have the time to get bored with a story line because as soon as you know it he has changed tac to something different or more compelling.
