I looked around Smallville boards and either I'm blind or no one is addressing what's bugging me. That and many of the boards haven't had a post since the summer. And there is this arc that is driving me crazy in how much I love it and am loathing it at the same time.
Okay so first:
THEN
THEN
FURTHER THEN
But why for the dark move mentioned in my first spoiler?
If anyone can help shed some light on this arc or point me in a direction where I can learn more I'd muchly appreciate it. Smallville fans don't seem as online and analytically oriented as us Buffy fans.
Okay so first:
in season 7, Chloe was all ill with Lana because Lana was willing to kill for Clark. In fact she indicated it was something she despised.
THEN
Chloe was attacked by Brainiac, but because of her healing powers his attack didn't shut her brain function down, but in fact upgraded her to super genius mode and weakened him allowing Clark to "destroy" him
THEN
In the season 8 episode 'Identity', this dude can read people's pasts/brain/memories just by touching them. He touches Clark when fighting him and thus gets that Clark is an alien superbeing. While he's in the hospital, Chloe visits this guy and after finding out he knows all about Clark she very cooly explains that the human mind is a complex computer and if you download too much data, it crashes and everything is lost. She takes off her black gloves and grabs dude's wrists and overloads his brain - killing him. But then there's NO mention of this ever again. She shows no remorse in subsequent episodes. And no indication that she was under any kind of Brainiac thrall at the time. At least not what I've seen.
FURTHER THEN
We discover Chloe's memories are being replaced by Kryptonian knowledge by Brainiac, which she calls "being taking over by Brainiac." Smallville writers do their thing and have the Brainiac essence removed from Chloe and erase her memories of Clark's powers and Kryptonian heritage. Of course Doomsday kidnaps her on her wedding day and reinfects her with Brainiac and my impression is that Brainiac needed Chloe for a new body/vessel. So she is now Brainiac.
But why for the dark move mentioned in my first spoiler?
As I understand Chloe is herself and not under Brainiac's control when she kills that guy, so why go against her beliefs?
