Does anyone else get an emotional reaction from listening to buffy music without actually watching the show simultaneously. I randomly listen to the close your eyes, the gift music, or the giles/jenny music a lot, and also listen to a few songs, such as full of grace or a place called home, and I frequently get teary or moved at certain points. My view is that I've watched the shows, and episodes, that these feature in that much that my brain replays the scenes on a subconcious level, that makes me react as though I were actually watching the emotionally charged scenes. Or it could be that I'm just a big girl who gets teary eyed over soppy music.

I'm big into different kinds of music depending on the mood I'm in, and I listen to a lot of Buffy and Angel music. For example, I listen to the Buffy theme song when I'm working out quite a bit. When I'm trying to figure things out I like listening to "Where do we go from here" from OMWF. When I'm trying to amp myself up for something, I like putting on the Angel theme song or "Drawn to the Fire".

When I'm sad though, the one that really gets me, every time, is "Close your eyes", the Buffy/Angel song. I absolutely love that song.

Yeah I get drawn to OMWF feeling songs quite a lot, dependent on my emotional state at the time.

'Close Your Eyes' strongly reminds me of crying every time I watch Becoming and the first couple of times I listened to it on its own I got choked up, but not for some time now.

I have the same reaction, at the poin that she runs him through with the sword, I always get butterflys.

"Remebering Jenny" never fails to make me sad, and I love rocking out to "Wslk Through the Fire." My friends think that I'm nuts, but I don't mind.

I have loads of Buffy score pieces on my iPod. Sacrifice is the one that makes me the saddest, The Final Fight from Chosen always lifts me up, and makes me feel strong. And I've been singing Going Through The Motions alot lately, since that song sums up how I've been feeling about my life this past year.

Yeah I do. "We are the lucky ones" for example.
All in all I listen to music which I would probably never listen to without Buffy. For example Four Star Mary aka Dingoes ate my Baby. I love them but without Buffy I would never listen to them!

Thats by Biff Naked, the org version of the song isn't anywhere near as good as the buffy mix.

love that song!
I have a huge heart ballad when I sing along to "Something to Sing About" and "Rest In Peace" from OMWF as it sums up my life so when I sing along it makes me feel better, but I tear up everytime I hear "Close Your Eyes" it makes me think of Bangel and my love life hoping that there is a light in the end of the tunnel, "The Final Fight" and "Sacrfice" are beautiful I love listening to them, I have all the albums on my phone and I like "That Kind of Love" from Radio Sunnydale I find it beautiful and "I Ate Gonna Eat My Heart Out" from Buffy The Movie as I love singing along and is personal to me.

My fav album is the first one I love "I Quit", "Keep Myself Awake", "Lucky", "Teenage F.B.I" and "God Is A Man" they all mean a lot to me 🙂

grats on the award :)
Huge huge huge emotional reaction to the music!!!! I think it's so intertwined with the whole feeling of the show. It makes each scene all that it is.

very true
I watch my DVDs on a PS3, which has a x1.5 playback speed option. If you ever want a chuckle listen to the themes of both shows sped up. You will laugh out loud. I guarantee it 🙂

Well I get teary when I hear Close your eyes or the Gift score, there are some other scores as well though that will do that to me. And Angel's "Start the apocalypse" always makes me feel powerful, as does Buffy's "The Final Fight"

There's some truly great music in these shows and I love the score cd's fiercely 🙂

One that came to mind, the final fight song in Chosen, I think it's the theme music for the menu in the DVD, is such an epic song. It makes me want to go out and save the world or something!

"Walk Through the Fire" from OMWF never fails to rouse emotion in me! It's so moving. I also love the music from Hush and Restless especially had an emotional score for me.

I most definitely go all emotioney when I listen to Buffy music. "Close Your Eyes" really REALLY gets to me because that is Buffy and Angel's theme and they were one of my first love stories as a kid so every time I hear it my heart hurts.

OMWF comes to mind also. That episodes songs are super epic :]

When I hear "The Final Fight" from "Chosen", it gives me goosebumps. It definitely makes me feel something, emotionally... Sometimes I feel swells of pride as I remember the Potentials getting their powers and fighting (some of them to the death). Sometimes I feel sadness for Spike, and others I get a little anxious, remembering how I first felt seeing Buffy running on those rooftops and Anya getting killed.
