Buffy: Well, we'll fix it. We'll hit serious research and...
Spike: [interrupting] Good. Try _Behavior Modification Software Throughout the Ages_.
Buffy: [sighs] Okay, you're right. Not a book thing.
[pauses, comes to a realization]
Buffy: It's a phone thing.
Spike: Who ya gonna call?
[awkard look from Buffy]
Spike: God, that phrase isn't gonna be usable again, is it?
Buffy: Doubt it.

maybe i'm just stupid but I really dont get this ::huh1:: lol

too young to remember Ghost Busters? :p
Who you gonna call is a phrase they used to say on Ghostbusters.

The theme song went, "Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!"

lol yeah i love that i'm sorry they're right that line will never be the same.. as soon as spike said who you gonna call... i was like GHOST BUSTERS!!

lol, i remeber watching this ep, and Spike says 'Who you ganna call?' and i started giggling and saying 'Ghostbusters!' and then Spike says 'God, that phrase is never gonna be useable again, is it?' and i went into a fit of the giggles, because i didn't think he was gonna say it ! lmao! 😀

ok I got another one for ya: In season 3 when Buffy just came back and they're all together again at Giles'

Xander asks Buffy: So where were you? Did you go to Belgium?
Buffy: Why would I go to Belgium?
Xander: I think the relevant question here is why wouldn't you? Belgium!

Maybe its the fact that I'm from Belgium but I really don't get wether its supposed to be funny or not.
My theory is that the writers just needed some place completely irrelevant, to say 'something' and have Xander touch on the subject where Buffy was... and then accidentally ended up with Belgium. But I don't understand where they get the "why wouldn't you"-part. Is it because Belgium has some stereotypical image I don't know about? Or is it not even supposed to be funny?Or i it only supposed to be funny in the way that Xander says it? Is there maybe a hidden Belgium-fan amongst the writers?(yay!)
Why Belgium? I'm so lost lol

I think the relevent question here is why not Belgium? Belgium!

Just kidding 😉

I don't think it's anything that specific - I think it's probably like (no offense, cause I've been to Belgium and it's quite nice 😉) that asking if she went to Belgium is such a random place for someone to go that it's funny that Xander asked that.

There's no good reason why Buffy would go there in that situation. And I am not explaining this well at all.

Yeah I remember watching this episode and I didn't understand either! lol. I don't think it's any offence to Belgium though 🙂

thanks everyone! I'll try and stop obsessing about it!
I didn't think it was meant in an offensive way, I guess I was just a little surprised when I heard it and I still thought it was fun... I was like: yay! Finally a reference to Belgium that doesn't involve chocolate, waffles, sprouts or beer!

^.^v
