I'm sorry, but I disagree. I think it's "entirely pointy". That's why they give us these little quote tags, so we can quote things.

Taken out of context, a quote can mean something completely different than what was originally intended.

The truth is we don't know what's going on in the TV movie department. Before a contract is signed, anything said in the media can have seriously negative effects to towards those talks. People blabbing about negotiations has killed deals in the past.

I work for a production company that creates content for the G4 network. A little while back, comcast(the company that owns G4)bought techtv. It took over a month to finalize the deal, but up until that deal was finalized we couldn't say peep one about it. The public already knew about it...it was widely known from day one, but we were directed to act like we had no idea that comcast bought techtv because we were told that it could sour the deal.

The thing is though, I don't think Garth Ancier has to worry about me. I don't believe anything he says anyway. (OK, now I'm being sarcastic. 🙂 )

This is all I see when I look at the tv movie front. The WB says that they have contacted Joss, and that they have an offer on the table. James Marsters shortly thereafter says that Joss told him that he he wanted him to be in a TV movie. And Anthony Stewart Head also says that he recently met with Joss and they talked about a Giles TV movie. All this doesn't spell that a tv movie series is a done deal, but it looks like Joss has recieved this offer, and is right now bouncing ideas off of people to see who is interested. Figuring out what he could do with TV movies. Again though, he's busy right now with firefly, and I doubt he would be able to take time out of his busy schedule to be in hardcore negotiations at this point in time.

I recognize that as your opinion. Here's mine. Here's what I see. James Marsters suggested Joss wants to do a group of four mini-movies. James has exaggerated details of possible movie deals in the past. I don't disbelieve him on this one, but I don't blindly believe him on it either. For me it's like he didn't even say anything.

I read that article about ASH having dinner in London with Joss too. He did say Joss was bouncing Ideas off his head concerning a Giles series, or movie, or something. I lost the link, but I naturally assumed they were talking about the proposed Ripper movie they want to do with BBC. You know? the one they've been talking about for a couple of years now.

Now as far as the comedy team of Levin and Ancier go, I don't believe a word they say. They remind me of that old lawyer Joke.

Q: How do you know Ancier and Levin are lying?
A: There lips are moving.

Please don't misunderstand. I'm not trying to convince you, myself, or anybody else there will never be a Buffy/Angel related movie, or spin-off. I'm just saying there is no credible information at this time allowing us to believe an Angel movie is imminent.

And I'd like to stress again, Joss will be doing a convention in Chicago on August 13-15. There will no doubt be a question and answer period. He will of course be asked questions on the subject of WB movie deals. I will be listening carefully to his answers. Until that time though, these stories are just dust in the wind.
 
There is definitely not any credible info out there. It's just nice to see some parallels being drawn from both camps. Parallels that lend some credence towards the possibility of future Buffy-verse. It's just that there has been so much doom and gloom in the Buffy-verse since Angels cancelation that it is nice to see that there is at least some hope, and that all the campains to continue the Angel/Buffy legacy onward might have served some purpose, and weren't all lost. At least it can be assumed that the public outcry has served to get the ball rolling. Now we just have to wait and see what will happen next.
 
Yeah well, at least as Ash San said, Ancier seems to be wanting to admit the WB made a mistake. So yeah maybe the public outcry has had some effect.

You'll never get me to find encouragement from an old rumour resurfacing from proven liars though.

I wish they took odds on this down in Vegas. I'd take a bet on the BBC Ripper appearing before the WB Angel movie.

I look forward to being proven wrong on August 13th though.
 
There will be two comics coming out in this summer. They plan on a Faith spin-off and if it is out of reach there is a possible Spike spin-off. A Buffyverse movie seems out of the menu. And since both SMG and DB are out of the future Buffyverse projects, I don't see any need for them.
 
Actually isn't there an Angel series, and a Spike one-shot on the way from IDW comics? I vaguely remember some rumour, or mention of a Faith comic, but you'll have to link me to show me where that's firm. Yeah, please link. I want to know more about that.

The IDW people have promised the appearance of other characters from Angel in upcoming comics, but I think they mean the characters will appear in the Angel series for now.

Joss suggests he'll watch these comics, but says his only involvement, so far, is he gave them a list of guidelines on things to stay away from.
 
Or I could just do what Buffy.nu itself does, and go to Google. 😉

What the heck. I tried em both. I can't find anything on an upcoming Faith comic.

I also tried the search function here at Buffy-boards, because that often helps me.

I discovered there was talk of a possible Buffy Season 8 comic from Dark Horse a while ago. Maybe Faith was supposed to be in that. I don't know. They didn't say.

Just for your information; there will be no Faith comics; a Faith spin-off (on TV), they will be publishing a Spike comic named Spike: Old Times and a series of Angel comics named Angel: The Curse. Both will be published in August and Whedon is consulting the both comics.


P.S.Have you heard something like Buffy search supposed to do something with Google, it is a search engine but only Buffy related?

Ahh. OK. I get it. The way it was presented, I thought you were talking about a Faith spinoff from the IDW comics.

But, yeah that Faith spin-off stuff... I do know a little about that. There is not a concrete plan for a Faith spinoff TV, TV mini, or theatrical release at this time.

Whedonverse.org is doing a campaign trying to encourage something though. There has been considerable talk of a Faith spin-off since even before the cancellation of Buffy.

Now as far as the Buffy/Angel search engine goes from Buffy.Nu, I don't know if it uses Google. They wouldn't tell you if it did. Buffy.Nu is fond of offering stuff up as if they created it. In my experience that's rarely (if ever) the case. In fact I'm almost positive the first time I saw that particular search engine it wasn't offered from Buffy.nu.

I doubt there is a Google connection there though, for the simple reason, I've used them both, and Google is better for Buffy/Angel stuff. If they are using Google they should rethink how it's done, because it needs improvement. 😉

Oh, and something else I need clarification on. What exactly do you mean by "Whedon is consulting on the IDW comics" ? I know Joss has said on multiple occasions he gave Fox a list of stuff he didn't want IDW to touch, and Fox told them. In a recent TV Guide interview Joss insinuated he might actually read the comics (something he says he doesn't do with the books). I think I heard the Spike guy (Peter David) suggest he has a more personal relationship with Joss, but is there more do it than that?

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I read it somewhere. In buffy.nu, that is. Consulting business, I believe, is to give consent or ideas, or encourage artists about the storyline, etc. He states if he can't work with his actors (I think this goes for SMG and DB), he will certainly find a way for Buffyverse to continue in other mediums (hence, comics).
My humble opinion? I thinks comics are treachery and must be undone.

At the moment it looks like there is a better chance for a Spike movie than an Angel movie, which is good for me, not so much for Angel addicts
 
I'd wager Joss will read the Angel and Spike comics. He's a big comic fan and is working in the medium now, writing Astonishing X-Men. He's said that he tries to go to the comic store on new comic day, but failing that, sends his assistant.
