Does anyone NOT have a smartphone?

And then there are the intelligent people who try to drive while reading the newspaper. Then compound the situation by texting about the mass shooting they are on their way to do. Only to be told not to text that information as it is dangerous.

And they're probably speeding and changing lanes improperly while doing all that other stuff.
I think I could live without my smartphone, I already annoy people now by constantly having it on silent, so I never hear it ring! I have been known to just go out without it as well, I get some odd looks when I say I left my phone at home! I would have to get my watch fixed though as I do use the phone for the time a lot though.

Me too! I'll put it on silent and forget it's on silent for hours (sometimes days) because I never hear anything from it lol
I have a Smartphone, I originally got one because texing with old reliable is a pain.

I sometimes miss having an old reliable, easier to carry around and it's less likely to get damaged.
 
Ah. This thread is sometimes like seeing the song of my people being performed. I am on the very edge of going out and getting a pay as you go flip phone.

I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Which went into critical systems failure. Apparently, not my fault. But I still owe another 200 or something on it. So I can't get a new phone through my line until that's paid off. Or pay 175 in insurance, just to get another one of the same phone, which, I don't want to do, because Critical Systems Failure.

So. I got a pay as you go smartphone through the same company, to use until the other one is paid off. And it fell out of my purse and the screen broke in such a way that it now looks like a stick figure of a dude is squatting on my screen. Plus, you know, glass shards when I try to use it.

And these are just the last two in a long line of my extreme capability to break phones. I got an otter box for one. And BROKE THE OTTER BOX. I didn't even know that was a thing. But I did it.

Currently, I've got broken screen for taking calls, and my husband's old phone set up like a tablet, that I can use on Wifi for any other random stuff. And I was thinking, I have a Kindle Fire. It'll do the apps thing. So I think I can get by with a phone that's just a phone.

Plus, I think a phone that's just a phone, works more reliably as a phone. Like, sometimes my smartphone would do everything but call people. And I'd be holding it and yelling, "I don't need to get on Facebook! I just want to call my mom!"

Neverending frustration.

I'm actually really just, not a friend to technology. My brother-in-law has a theory that I make technology nervous and it just breaks near me. I remember that he said that, because the same day two registers broke down in front of me in two different stores.
