Does Anyone Watch The Vampire Diaries?

I watched one episode that was on t.v tonight and tbh it looked like 90210 with vampires. aha. ( i'm prolly talking a load of crap 😛)
I could see myself maybe liking it , dunno though.. i pointed out some things that reminded me of twilight. :/. aha.

It's twlight bleh :S, except set to a weekly schedule.

If you need a vampire fix watch True Blood. Again, no buffy but a nice long far cry away from anything remotely like twilight.

Emzzie agrees: mhmm I do agree with this. Elena was a snob in the books and they changed her in the show.

Plus, Elena is blond in the books. So they took a blond, shallow, stereotypical cheerleader type and made her into a brunette, more intelligent, non-stereotype. Then they put Twilight comments and hints in the show from the beginning. They are definitely playing off Twilight's popularity. But the show really isn't anything like Twilight anymore. They started off even ripping off some scenes (like the break up scene in New Moon - and the scene with Elena and Stefan in the woods). But they've developed the show well and it doesn't have much in common with Twilight anymore.

Eventually I'll finish reading the books. The first one was just okay.

I've read the books and I liked them. Liked them so much, I was very excited when I heard they were going to make a tv series based on them.
And then, the tv series began. I didn't really liked it at first, to be honest, but, I still watched it every week. And the more I watched, the more it grew on me. I'm still trying to figure out where they're going with this. Sometimes, I feel like they've forgotten entirely that this is supposed to be based on a novel. Time will tell, I guess.
I do like it now, but, I think it could be better.

Nah, True Blood was awesome! Granted, I've only seen the first season - but I loved all of it. The show has a very different concept then most vampire shows.

If you'd read the books, you might not like the show. A lot of people who love the books are really irritated by the show. The characters are totally different. The storylines are pretty different too. The books are really great IMO. He's butchering them with the show, but for some reason I keep watching it anyway. I must be a masochist.

I've seen one ep that confused me lol but it looked good. I saw the book in the shop the other day is it worth buying as i'm always up for some vampy books?

I tried to watch, but since I came in about 5 eps into the season and haven't read the books, I was lost. 🙁 I love Nina Dobrev though; she's gorgeous!
