Yeah, Willow was the crushy one. Fred was just being herself and so happy she could relate to someone, and by her reaction to Willow's "I'm seeing someone" I think it was pretty obvious she didn't even realize she was sending out any vibes to Willow (which, in her book, she probably wasn't, it was just Willow's judgement).

I just watched this episode for the very first time. Aaah I'm so happy, I've seen my Wiwi again ! (Yes I do know that nickname is more that ridiculous.). Ahem, anyway.

STUPID WIWI !!! Why wouldn't you just let go of stupid Kennedy and gay Fred up ?! It was the PERFECT occasion !!

I don't think Fred was attracted to Willow, or at least, I don't think she realised it. You can totally tell by her look when Willow tells her "I'm seeing a stupid selfish brat" (or something like that)... But Willow totally has a crush on Fred, with the complimenting, the chin-touching, the Wesley-questionning... (while not telling him she's now gay... (though maybe Cordy told him)) !! And at the end you can see how she decides "No, I can't let myself fall for Fred or even consider it, I gotta kill this in the egg, I'm gonna tell her I'm seeing a useless immature bitca"... But otherwise she totally wanted Fred.

AND I TOTALLY WANTED THEM TOGETHER ! I think Frillow is like such a better couple that irrealistic Wennedy or whatever you kids call it. ^^'

I mean, they totally match.

Though I really don't believe Fred was attracted to Willow - but she could have been. Sides, she was in a disappointed-in-men phasis... Arf... Well... Maybe she'll come back (I know she won't =( ) in S8 and hook up with Willow after Kennedy has died of stupidity.

Edit: Hey since I still got the DVD running in my DVD player, I'm running the commentary right now. Director Terrence O'Hara and co-producer Jeffrey Bell. They're saying they did decide that Willow's got a crush on Fred !! Without Wesley knowing, or at least at first... Hehe.

I'd like to think so, mainly because it would have been so much cuter for Willow to end up with Fred and not bloody Kennedy. Then again knowing what happens to Fred...well I'm torn on the issue.

But it was probably her having a brainy friend to talk to which is something she was going to be very happy about. Whether it was a crush as well I don't know.

I think that there was a mutual attraction between the two, but it was more intellectual than sexual, if that makes a whole lot of sense. On the other hand, it wouldn't take a great stretch of the imagination to see Fred performing the same "experiment" with Willow that Buffy did with Satsu.

Five by Five > Oh I'm sorry, I guess this expression "kill in the egg" doesn't really exist in English ! I have this tendency to translate the French expressions... "Tuer dans l'oeuf" is so cute actually. Erm. Yet I had noticed lots and lots of times it translated as "nip in the bud". I'm sorry. Sometimes I really think I should shut the heck up and get better at English language before posting in English-speaking boards and not getting understood.

As to the possible attraction, I think Fred really is warm with everyone (see how she greeted Faith...), without really thinking how it can be interpreted. Would have loved Frillow though.

IMO, Willow didn't get carried away nearly enough. 😀 While I do agree (grumblingly) that Fred's excitement over Will probably wasn't erotic in nature (more "ooh finally another geek girl around here, let's totally discuss quantum physics!"), I trust Will could have won her over to the L tribe with half a try. *closing my eyes and wishing very hard for that to have happened*
