Does God exist...

Well maybe something beyond life we know, but I dunno wether something as God really exsists!

I don't believe in one particular god, the whole religion/science thing finds me falling more on the science side. but I think it would be nice to think of forces guiding our lives; or maybe I just want someone else to take responsibility when I'd rather not.

What about you Soulgasm?
 
I don't believe in "god", I do however take great interest in mythology, greek, norse, egyptian etc.
 
I dont beleive in god, reason for not beleiveing in him is because if he was real then why does he make us suffer and put horrid people on earth!!!
 
well if God excists that means the Devil dose to! my friends theory... the corupt parts of the world is the Devils undoing of Gods doing... ... ..? but i like to think there is heaven and that when you die you you dont DIE. not nesisarely one God in the world there are hundreds acording to wicca... i my self believe in gardien angels and spirit guides... yet they are differend! every one has one of each... im an open minded person and have been looking into wicca and the sixth sense, you know.. all that stuff!
 
My theory on this is that there is a force, a driving force that leads things to be the way they are. Maybe not in the form of an all-powerful being, but some kind of force.

To me, there are too many coincidences in life that cannot be explained by science and when you look back at how the first living organisms were created, there's alot of "This cell combined with that cell", but there's not a whole lot of "Why did those two cells just happen to meet up?"

So to me it just feels like there is a controlling factor to some extent.
 
I don't believe in "God" as a being. But I do believe in ghosts and other supernatural things, just not a physical "God".

Today at lunch, someone was asking me what my one wish in the whole world would be. Well, I said "A million dollars". Well, then another person answered with - "I would wish that everyone in the world would be Christian."

This got me a bit upset. I took it as a selfish comment, kind of like imposing your religion on other people that might not want to believe that. I brought up this point and she starts screaming at me, cause "I defied the works of God" and all this other crap. I'm not saying I'm against religion, I'm saying that that was entirely rude of someone to say what she said.

If a Muslim kid was sitting there with us, I'm sure he'd be a bit pissed off. I just didn't get it. But enough of my rambling.

No, I don't think there's a god.😉
 
well i gota say my wish would be for a long healthy life (or is that two?) bacause although money is great it cant always help you in some situations! what if you fall terminally ill? money cant fix that. so health would be my no1 wish. pluss i would say million pounds coz its way more! lol. and i was a little bit selfish about the religion wish. every one is entitled to have their own beliefe wether is a christian one or not. but "the world is what it is...wishing dosent change that."
 
You are definately right Wiccan Willow about the lunch table...trying to force religion on people is the worst thing anybody can do...if one of those people were Muslim...there'd be a rocus...

I think WW is right. If everyone was the same or had the same beliefs, then life would be a hell of alot more boring than it already is

It certainly gets tricky sometimes.
I can understand where the "I wish everyone was christian" thing comes from but I think there are better ways of going about it than that.
I think St Francis summed things up nicely when he said "Preach the gospel to all the world, and when necessary use words."
 
what i gather from this thread that science is at odds with religion...

but from my perspective...there is poetry in the periodic table...there is so much commonalities in seemingly unrelated disciplines that it begs the question that some being is writing the rules of the universe....by being...i mean one because if there were multiple beings writing the laws...the laws couldn't be related because they were written by different individuals...sort of like if if you compare novels from different writers...each has his own style...his own signature....one signature pops up in science...

everyones relationship to the divine is different...it should be different cause everyone is different...but as long as you acknowledge that there is a divine...and you respect it...as well as the earth and its people...no problems...no problem at all...
 
Science and religion go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned, I forget who said "Religion without science is blind, science without religion is lame." Religous people can't just discount what the scientific community says, in the same way I think scientists should take into account some religeous concepts. I've been told that the number of *really* brilliant scientists, paticularly physisists, who are aethists is incredibly low. Sadly I don't have any evidence to back that up, but I know when I go camping on the top of a mountain and get to watch the sun rise throught the clouds, I find it hard to believe it's all just an accident and there's no reason or purpose to it all.
 
I agree...Like I said earlier, If it's not a being controlling everything, then it's a force, but all in all, things just don't happen because that's the way it is. Something makes it happen, and to me that seems to indicate the presence of some sort of divinity.
 
If there was a god buffy would not be ending!!!
seriously though i believe that there could be a higher being but i dont like religion and feel that religion was made to control the masses.
