I've noticed almost since the beginning Joss almost inesistent involvement in AtS. David Fury in an interview said joss originally hated the angel character and it was david greenwalt who persuaded him to make the character work. Maybe is this the reason for his lack of involvement in IDW work and his treatment of Angel in s8? More important, is he trying to destroy -or kill- this amazing character?

I don't really think he'd destroy such a popular character. I don't know if Joss hates Angel, I don't think so, you can say he lost interest in the character. It's obvious Joss has more passion for Buffy than Angel. We don't really know the full story in S8. I won't state my opinion until I read #40.

I think that Joss' limited, and at times apparently total lack of, involvement in the IDW issues is more a case of there being just so many hours in the day, and he feels that other projects and commitments require more of his time at the moment. As to exactly why he has a much greater involvement with his Dark Horse issues than IDW, that may be due to some sort of contractual issue rather than any desire to ignore Angel, Spike, or any of the other characters currently with IDW.
